This fantastic combo experience gives you the chance to work with local people and hop between islands on an action-packed group tour. First, cruise around the idyllic islands of Fiji and soak up some sun on the region’s best beaches and island resorts. Snorkel in the shallows, cool off in waterfalls and learn to surf on this amazing island-hopping adventure. Then, choose from two rewarding volunteer projects on the Yasawa islands. Work closely with indigenous communities and help out at a local school, or get close to colourful marine life as part of a conservation project. This is the perfect way to meet new people, mingle with locals and make a difference, while also having the time of your life in beautiful Fiji.

There are two options to choose from on this combo trip.

Option 1: 8 days Fiji Island Hopping + 2 week teaching children in local schools  

Option 2: 8 days Fiji Island Hopping + 2 week marine conservation project

Fiji Island Hopping (Options 1 + 2)

Day 1: Welcome to Fiji! Touch down in Fiji and meet your guide who will transfer you to your accommodation in Nadi. Meet your fellow travellers at a welcome dinner and drinks. Your Island Hopping Adventure has begun!

Day 2: The Central Coast. Head south to the Central Coast. Jump on a boat trip around the Vatulele and Yanuca Islands, and enjoy snorkelling, kayaking (extra cost) and a delicious beach BBQ. Back at the resort, relax with some sunset yoga and kava around the bonfire. Bliss!

Day 3: Learn to Surf. Time to hang ten with an included surf lesson! This afternoon, explore the forest and marvel at the beautiful Novala Falls. Head back to the resort for drinks by the beach.

Day 4: Yasawa Islands. Cruise across to the Yasawa Islands. Check in to the wonderful Blue Lagoon resort and enjoy a yummy meal at a local restaurant. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and exploring. 

Day 5: Local Village Experience. Visit some incredible limestone caves and interact with local people at a nearby village. Immerse yourself in Fijian culture, play some games with the village children and learn from the wisdom of the village elders. 

Day 6: Mantaray Island. Cruise over to Mantaray Island, home to over 1,000 species of underwaterwildlife. Enjoy a few rounds of beach volleyball and then sip on cocktails by the sea. Tonight, you’ll gather around the campfire, swapping stories and making memories.

Day 7: Farewell Dinner. It’s your final full day in Fiji! Spend the morning exploring Mantaray Island and then enjoy a farewell dinner with your group! Grab a drink and watch beautiful Fiji turn orange and pink as the sun goes down. Enjoy an exciting cultural dancing show and then party the night away!

Day 8: Tour ends. Your incredible Fiji adventure has come to an end! Time to head over to the neighbouring island of Barefoot, one of the stunning Yasawa Islands, where you’ll meet the rest of the volunteer team! A transfer is not included but is easy to arrange. Your volunteer experience is only a short boat trip away!

Volunteering on the Yasawa Islands

You can opt to either

  1. Volunteer with kids in local schools
  2. Volunteer at a marine conservation project

Day 9-20. Volunteering. Most days you will wake up for breakfast at 6am, and then take a longboat to the site of your volunteering. At 3pm you will return to your accommodation for a debrief and planning session. Enjoy dinner and free time in the evening. Day 21. You will be transferred back to Nadi for around 6pm. This weekend is your free time before your island-hopping adventure!

For the volunteering element, outside of the term times listed in the trip information you will get involved with community projects that assist with the development and education of the local children whilst the schools are closed.
