    When you picture Singapore, the glamorous harbour of Marina Bay is what immediately comes to mind. Sleek skyscrapers and futuristic hotels, including the most famous one of all, Marina Bay Sands, face opposite each other from across the ocean. Another unmissable landmark has to be Merlion Park: home to the half-lion, half-fish statue.

    Singapore is a tropical country, so it experiences hot and humid weather throughout the whole year with very little temperature change. You can typically expect highs of 33℃ and lows of 25℃.

    Rainfall is short and sharp, falling throughout every season; although October to February are generally the wettest months in Singapore.

    Best Time to Visit

    The best time to visit on our Singapore tours comes down to preference. Singapore is an all-season destination, although March to August is favourable due to less frequent rainfall. The dry and sunny skies make it a perfect time to explore Singapore’s outdoor attractions, such as the botanical gardens and beaches.

    October to February is also popular, however, especially among travellers who are ticking multiple countries off their bucket list.

    Customs & Culture

    Singapore is very culturally diverse, so much so that the country has four different official languages. Exploring Singapore’s different neighbourhoods, such as Chinatown and Little India, should be on your radar if you have more time here.

    When visiting the hawker food centres, a cultural custom to keep in mind is “chope-ing.” This is when people informally reserve a seat or table with a small, strategically placed item. Tipping is not expected in Singapore. Your trip leader on our Singapore tours can also advise you on the best practices.

    Entry requirements and visa regulations are different for every destination and your purpose of travel. We recommend staying updated on the latest official information before you go travelling. Your passport should be undamaged and have enough blank pages for stamps and visas. Many countries require your passport to have at least 6 months of validity beyond the date of entry.

    It’s up to you! Singapore is a fantastic layover destination because there is so much for you to experience, even just inside the airport for a short period. If you have a full day here or longer, going on a sightseeing tour to Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and neighbourhoods like Chinatown is highly recommended.

    The best activities to do in Singapore include ticking off the iconic sights, like Marina Bay Sands and the Merlion statue, or even seeing the Gardens by the Bay light show at night. Singapore is also famous for its diverse food scene, so visiting the hawker centre stalls is an absolute must.
