Belize Travel Advice

Sunny skies off the coast of Belize

Climate & Weather

Belize has a tropical climate, with a distinct dry and wet season. December to May is Belize’s dry season. Meanwhile, the wet season brings short rain showers from June to November. Temperatures average between 25 and 30°C year-round.

The island of Caye Caulker is typically hot during the day, with a cooling sea breeze. During the wet season, tropical showers are infrequent and quick. As you adventure inland to areas such as San Ignacio, temperatures are slightly cooler but with less wind. In the wet season, rainfall is heavier, creating the lush jungle the area is famed for!

Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit on our Belize tours comes down to preference. If you’re dreaming of an island paradise, November to April is a great time to travel to experience the sunny weather and clear, blue waters for snorkelling. This is also a great time to hike in the rainforests or join a cave tour near San Ignacio.

March and December are the perfect times to experience shoulder season, with slightly cooler temperatures. The rainy season may suit budget-conscious travellers who want to experience fewer crowds.

You’ll fall in love with the local food and streets filled with music and art.

They were very helpful in booking me extra nights before my trip started in the same hotel. They even helped me book all my flights. I really enjoyed the best of Central America and the pure Costa Rica trip and would highly recommend.

Excellent introduction to backpacking through Central America. Insightful tour guide. Made amazing friends!

Removes a lot of the stress of travelling, meet lovely people and see cool things. There is obviously less flexibility than if you travelled on your own but that is to be expected.

Emilia

Fast-paced, well organised action-packed and covered everything I wanted to do in Central America. The guides were also fantastic!
