Social Media & Content Assistant

We are looking for an outgoing, creative and enthusiastic individual to join our rapidly growing travel company, Gap 360, in a full-time junior marketing position. This role would be ideal for a recent college or university graduate, or someone who has just returned from taking a year out.

This role will include varied responsibilities within the marketing department, primarily focusing on Social Media, Content, Community Engagement, and Analytics/Reporting. In recent years our social media presence has grown rapidly and we're looking for someone to further this growth and take our social media to the next level. We're looking for someone who is comfortable and confident using social media day in, and day out - so if you're someone who spends all day scrolling your feed and posting online, we want to hear from you!

Previous travel experience overseas would be advantageous but is not essential, as long as you have a passion for adventure. If you're looking for your first step into the exciting world of travel, this could be for you.

The main duties will be:

  • Coordinating, creating, and occasionally featuring in social media posts across all our brand's channels, with fresh and engaging content
  • Community management and outreach - liaising with our travellers to get content, uploading content to our website, engaging with the wider travel community online, responding to reviews, managing our community Facebook groups, and more
  • Assisting with paid advertising on social media and assisting to run these campaigns
  • Occasionally helping with email newsletters and website content
  • Monthly social media reporting to various stakeholders, and tracking of social media performance and growth
  • Coordinating outgoing and incoming mail including promotions and advertising mail
  • Building and maintaining relationships with educational community institutes for marketing purposes
  • Understanding the performance and analytics of our marketing output, with a wider eagerness to learn more about analytics and measuring the success of deliverables

The main strengths you'll need are:

  • Creativity, passion, and flair to create engaging content - including images, videos, and written content
  • Excellent knowledge and use of all major social media platforms - Instagram, TikTok and Facebook are a must. Twitter, Threads, and any other platforms are a bonus
  • Basic photo and video editing skills (e.g. Canva, Capcut, etc)
  • Basic filming skills (iPhone is fine!) and confident behind the camera as well as in front
  • Great computer competency, and an appetite for growing your technical skills
  • A good foundation of writing skills (e.g. for social captions, articles, newsletters, social video scripts, etc)
  • An eagerness to learn more about performance, tracking and analytics of results - understanding the key performance indicators of your marketing output
  • Ability to adapt to constantly changing social trends

Additional requirements which would benefit the role:

  • Previous use of social media scheduling and analytics platforms (e.g. Later, Hootsuite, Buffer, etc)
  • An understanding and experience with marketing principles e.g. having completed a marketing degree or diploma, or practical experience (e.g. personal blog or social channel)
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially when inputting data
  • A keen interest in travel and youth trends
  • Any previous experience with reporting on results or performance, or using platforms for analytics (e.g. Meta Business Manager, Google Analytics, etc)

This role is primarily based in an open and fun office environment in Tunbridge Wells, with the option of 1 or 2 days remote working from home, subject to approval.

Salary is negotiable depending on your experience, and there are excellent benefits including travel discounts, 25 days holiday, and a pension. Prospects for advancement are good too!

Send CV and covering letter to [email protected] to apply.
