This tour takes in all the main sights of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and also heads off the beaten track in search of unique experiences such as late-night squid fishing and community volunteering. Enjoy 12 days in Vietnam with a group of like-minded travellers before hopping over to Thailand for 4 weeks of adventure! Discover beautiful landscapes and island gems on this awesome combo trip! Let the adventures begin!

Day 1: Welcome to Vietnam. Arrive into Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, where you’ll be met and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy your first night in Vietnam!

Day 2: Hanoi Rickshaw Tour. Tour around the city on a rickshaw and keep your eyes peeled for key sites such as the Presidential Palace, the beautiful West Lake, the Ho Chi Minh complex and the One Pillar Pagoda. Breakfast included.

Day 3: Ha Long Bay cruise. Wake up early and make your way to the traditional Vietnamese junk boat that’ll be your home for the night! As you cruise you’ll have the chance to go caving, sea kayaking and even try your hand at a spot of late-night squid fishing! Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 4: Wake up in Ha Long. A real treat in store tonight – a stay on your very own private island! Chill out on this gorgeous island, get competitive with some beach volleyball and soak up the glorious sun! Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 5: Ninh Binh Homestay. Return to Ha Long Bay before plunging south to the stunning landscapes of Ninh Binh. Check in to a fantastic riverside homestay, and watch the sky turn orange and pink as the sun sets in this magnificent location. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 6: Beautiful Ninh Binh. Join a bicycle tour through the countryside. Then hop on a boat and glide along gentle rivers and delve into atmospheric caves. After lunch, ascend the legendary 450 steps of Dragon Mountain Viewpoint and prepare for a magical sunset. Overnight train down to Hoi An. Breakfast included.

Day 7: Hoi An. Wake up this morning in Danang and hop on a bus to Hoi An. Explore the lantern lit streets, wander around the shops and market stalls or simply gaze out over the wonderful waterways.

Day 8: Cycling and Crab Fishing. Today, jump aboard a fisherman’s boat and learn to catch crab as you float through tranquil Vietnamese waters! Then, learn how to whip up some tasty Vietnamese delicacies at a cooking class. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City. Jump on a short flight to southern Vietnam and visit famous Ho Chi Minh City. Soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant place.

Day 10: Mekong Delta. Back on the water today as you explore the beautiful Mekong Delta on board a traditional canoe. Glide through natural tree arches and open waters and visit a local honeybee farm and coconut village before browsing at a floating market! Breakfast included.

Day 11: Cu Chi Tunnels. Head underground and explore the incredible Cu Chi Tunnels, a sprawling network of underground passages that were used during the war for supplies and communication. Then enjoy a farewell night out in Ho Chi Minh City. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 12: Onwards to Thailand! Your amazing adventure in Vietnam has come to an end! Time to head across to Thailand (Your flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok are not included in the trip price, however there are typically many direct and cheap flights between the two cities).

You will be met in Bangkok by one of our trip guides who will transfer you to your guesthouse near Khao San Road. Enjoy your first taste of Thailand!

Please note: If your trip departs on 1st August, 29th September or 22nd November 2017 you will have a spare day between the end of the Vietnam stage of your trip and the beginning of your Thai Adventure. This is a great opportunity to explore more of Vietnam for yourself! Extra accommodation will be at your own cost. For the 8th April start date there will be 2 days between your Vietnam and Thailand stage of your trip.

Day 13: Explore Bangkok. Tick off all the must see-sights on a Bangkok tour, starting with a long tailed boat ride. Visit Wat Po, Wat Arun and the stunning Grand Palace. Round off the day with a night out partying on the legendary Khao San Road.

Day 14: Bangkok to Chiang Mai. Enjoy a final day of exploration in Bangkok and take an overnight bus to Chiang Mai. Sit back and enjoy the ride! 

Day 15: Chiang Mai and Cookery Class. Arrive early in Chiang Mai and spend the day exploring the area.  In the evening you’ll learn to whip up tasty Thai dishes in a cookery class. Don’t forget to sample what you make!

Day 16: Meet the Elephants. Venture into the spectacular Thai countryside and prepare to make some BIG friends. You’ll feed and bathe beautiful elephants at an elephant home and then spend the night in huts next to the herd!

Day 17 & 18: Hill Trek. Time for two days of wild adventure trekking in the stunning Thai Northern Foothills – a must do experience! Arrive back in Chiang Mai on day 18.

Day 19: Chiang Mai. Free day to explore Chiang Mai; why not try exciting optional activities such as ziplining, white water rafting, Thai cookery or a night safari? There’s so much to choose from in Chiang Mai you’ll be spoilt for choice!

Day 20: Chiang Mai. Soak up the atmosphere of Thailand’s second-largest city and add in some more exciting optional activities, plus enjoy a guided tour of an awesome night market! Dust off your haggling skills and snap up some bargains!

Day 21: Return to Bankkok. Return to the bright lights of Bangkok. Arrive early evening and hit the town to enjoy Bangkok’s legendary nightlife!

Day 22: Bangkok to Koh Samui. Enjoy some free time to explore amazing Bangkok before boarding an overnight bus to the Thai island of Koh Samui.

Day 23: Koh Samui. Arrive on Koh Samui and settle into rural village life. 

Day 24: Volunteering. Make a difference with a community dam building project in Koh Samui's stunning forests. Head out for a taste of the local nightlife.

Day 25: Chill on Koh Samui. A free day to relax on the beach, recover from the night before, and reflect on your Asian experiences. 

Day 26: Angthong National Marine Park. Head over to Angthong for a memorable day of kayaking and swimming. Discover green islands, white beaches and turquoise waters.

Day 27-31: Koh Tao. Five days of beach break paradise, party time and snorkelling on the gorgeous shores of Thailand's pint-sized island, Koh Tao. Extra option to learn to scuba dive and gain a PADI qualification during your stay on Koh Tao, please contact us for details about booking this.

Day 32: Depart Koh Tao. Head across to the party island of Koh Phangan!

Day 33-36: Koh Phangan. Laze your days away in a haze of sun, sea and sand, and experience the epic party life of this magical island.

About the Parties

The Full Moon Party is what Koh Phangan is most famous for. Anywhere from 10,000 – 30,000 people gather to sing, dance and party the night away! A wide variety of music is played all night long and the infamous Thai Buckets are in plentiful supply! Entry costs approx. £2-3. The Black Moon Party is an incredible outdoor party on Baan Tai Beach. The luxurious sands are filled with intoxicating trance music from Thai and International residents, and guest DJs. Entry costs approx. £2-3. The Half Moon Party is the coolest alternative music event on Koh Phangan. World-class DJs play epic sets and the intimate forest setting fosters a magical atmosphere. Entry costs approx. £20-25.

Day 37: Transfer to Koh Phi Phi. Journey over to the iconic Koh Phi Phi, an island of stunning beaches, sparkling blue seas and dense forests. Prepare for three days in this perfect paradise!

Day 38-39: Koh Phi Phi. Free time to enjoy everything this fantastic island has to offer. Opt to relax on the sand, snorkel in the sea or party on the beach. 

Day 40: Koh Phi Phi. It’s time to say goodbye to this incredible Thai Adventure. Depart at any time. Return airport transfers are not included but are easy to arrange. Speak to us for transfer advice.

New Thai Adventure Itinerary

If you are travelling from 15th March 2018 onwards, you will follow an exciting new Thai Adventure itinerary.

Your trip will include a Bangkok bicycle tour, a Chiang Mai cookery class, an elephant experience, a 2-day hill trek, Krabi beach time, a Koh Phi Phi island boat trip and party time on Koh Phangan. You’ll also enjoy 4 days of volunteer experiences and adventure excursions on Koh Samui and 5 days of beach bliss on Koh Tao. The trip ends on Koh Tao on day 29.

You’ll also enjoy two included internal flights which will cut down the time you spend on the road and increase the time you spend exploring and relaxing!
