Enjoy 9 or 12 days in Vietnam with a group of like-minded travellers and a knowledgeable guide. Discover hidden wonders and gorgeous landscapes in this fantastic country! Let the adventures begin!
Day 1: Welcome to Vietnam. Arrive into Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, where you’ll be met and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy your first night in Vietnam!
Day 2: Hanoi Rickshaw Tour. Tour around the city on a rickshaw and keep your eyes peeled for key sites such as the Presidential Palace, the beautiful West Lake, the Ho Chi Minh complex and the One Pillar Pagoda.
Day 3: Ha Long Bay cruise. Board our traditional Vietnamese junk boat and sail into beautiful Ha Long Bay. Drink in the gorgeous landscapes, go caving and sea kayaking and spend tonight drinking and eating under the stars before being rocked to sleep by the waves in your cosy cabin.
Day 4: Ha Long to Ninh Binh. Our destination today is stunning Ninh Binh, referred to as ‘Ha Long Bay inland’ because of its dramatic limestone scenery. Gaze out on a sea of rice paddies and mountains from your riverside homestay as you raise a sundowner.
Day 5: Ninh Binh. Join a bicycle tour through the countryside, then hop on a boat and glide along gentle rivers and caves. After lunch, ascend the 450 steps of Dragon Mountain Viewpoint and prepare for a magical sunset before an overnight train to Danang.
Day 6: Hoi An. Wake as the train rolls into Da Nang and take the short bus ride to historic Hoi An. Explore the ochre-tone streets, wander around the shops, and market stalls or simply gaze out over the waterways. After the sun goes down, enjoy a lively evening in this World Heritage Site.
Day 7: Hoi An crab fishing and cooking. Jump aboard a traditional basket boat and navigate rivers and coconut groves with the help of some local fishermen while attempting to catch crabs! Then learn how to whip up some tasty Vietnamese delicacies at an authentic cooking class.
Day 8: Hoi An lanterns and beach. Get crafty today with a floating lantern making class. Then take a bike ride to one of the golden beaches just outside of the town, where we’ll kick back with some time in a local beach club.
Day 9: 9 day tour ends in Hoi An / 12 day tour explores Ho Chi Minh City. If you have booked the 9 day tour your trip comes to an end today in Hoi An. Your guide will help you organise your onward travel. If you’re on the 12 day tour, today is a great opportunity to explore Hoi An in the morning before jumping on a short flight to southern Vietnam and visit famous Ho Chi Minh City later in the day.
Day 10: Mekong Delta. Today explore the beautiful Mekong Delta and learn first hand how locals live, visit local villages and experience daily life on the Mekong.
Day 11: Cu Chi Tunnels. Head underground and explore the incredible Cu Chi Tunnels, a sprawling network of underground passages that were used during the war for supplies and communication. Then enjoy a farewell night out in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 12: 12-Day adventure ends. Your amazing adventure in Vietnam has come to an end! Exchange contact details with your group, say ‘Tam Biet’ to your guide, and head home or off for more travelling adventures.

Arrival
Arrive into Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on day 1. You will be met and transferred to your accommodation.
You can arrive in advance of the start date and still take up the inclusive transfer if you book extra nights of accommodation through us. If you wish to arrive before the start date then please let us know this in advance.
Please note if your flight arrives before 7am you will automatically be booked an extra night so you can check into your room immediately.
Departure
If you are on the 9 day tour, your trip will finish in Hoi An on day 9. The nearest airport is Da Nang and your group leader can help you book onward travel.
The 12 day tour ends in Ho Chi Minh City. A return airport transfer is not included but is easily arranged. Let us know your onward travel plans and we can advise you about your best transfer options.
Accommodation
8 nights of accommodation are included if you book the 9-day tour and 11 nights of accommodation are included if you book the 12-day tour.
2 nights will be spent in twin or double rooms in a modern hotel in Hanoi, 1 night in a twin or triple share overnight traditional junk boat in Ha Long Bay, 1 night in a twin or triple share local homestay in Ninh Binh, 1 night in a 4-share cabin overnight train, and 3 nights in a twin or triple share hotel with swimming pool in Hoi An.
For the 12-day tour you will also spend 2 nights in a twin or triple share hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, and 1 night in a twin or triple share hotel in the Mekong Delta.
Meals
7 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 1 dinner is included on the 9-day tour. 10 breakfasts, 5 lunches, and 2 dinners are included on the 12-day tour. You will need to purchase the rest of your meals yourself. This is a great opportunity to soak up Vietnamese culture and sample some local delicacies!
Single Use Plastics
Our local team has installed safe refillable water stations at every overnight stop on this tour and also at many of the activity destinations. In an effort to reduce the use of single-use plastics, we ask that you bring your own refillable water bottle with you on this trip.
The minimum age to join this group tour is 18. This trip is designed for those aged 18-39.
British nationals will need to apply for a visa before travelling to Vietnam. You can apply for a eVisa, which will allow for 30 days in Vietnam, through the offical Vietnamese government website.
It’s your responsibility to obtain the necessary visas for your time away. Visa rules are subject to change without prior notice, so please do check visa requirements at the time of your trip.
This trip is designed with your safety and wellbeing in mind. Arrival safety meetings
Most trips have an arrival meeting on the first day where the guide or local team will run through the trip, the safety protocols, and to answer any questions you may have. Now more than ever it is important you arrive in time for these meetings.
Proof of vaccination or negative covid test
For the safety of all travellers, at the start of some trips you may be required to show evidence that you are fully vaccinated (14 days after your second dose) and/or show evidence of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the tour start date in order to join the programme.
Updated hygiene and safety procedures
Our suppliers and partners have health and safety procedures in place on all of our trips. These protocols will be updated and adapted as a response to the Coronavirus outbreak, dependent on local restrictions and laws.
Transport and accommodation choices
Our suppliers and partners choose the accommodation and transport on our trips very carefully, and you may see a change to what would normally be used as a response to the outbreak. This may involve such changes as enhanced use of private transport or quieter accommodation.
Trained and knowledgeable staff
Our staff in the UK are trained to help you with your trip before you depart and answer any questions you may have. In addition, the local team and guides on our trips are there to help with any health and safety concerns and to ensure our trips run safely and smoothly.
Reduced group sizes
Some trips will run with reduced group sizes to start with. You may find that trips are more intimate and chilled, whilst still being packed with fun and adventure.
Healthcare
Your guide or the local team will be on hand to help you seek medical attention should you require it during your trip. As medical facilities and standards can vary around the world, you should ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place before you depart to cover you for any medical emergencies.
24/7 emergency support
We operate an emergency phone line for our travellers abroad. This is operated by a UK based member of staff 24/7 if you have a genuine emergency or urgent matter that you need attending.
It is important that you take measures to make travelling safer for yourself and others around you. Ensure you frequently wash your hands, cover your face when you sneeze and cough, bring and use your own hand sanitiser and facial coverings/masks, and enable social distancing where necessary. You should also ensure you listen to the instructions and guidance of the local team at all times, and follow all local laws and restrictions.
