Research Work Abroad

If you have a passion for discovery, then making a research project part of your gap year can be an immensely rewarding experience.  Taking a gap year focused on research volunteering is a great way to get some experience in your specific, chosen field, boost your career prospects and gain new knowledge along the way.

Wild about wildlife?

Wildlife research is one of the most popular and fascinating research possibilities you can take part in during your gap year trip. Take up a brilliant opportunity to get close to endangered and rare animals that, as a result of climate change, poaching and deforestation are under increasing threat.  If you want to learn about, and protect some of the world’s most incredible and endangered wildlife then a wildlife project is for you!

Big Five or Great White?

Head to Africa and get involved in conservatiion on our South African Wild Adventure.  Learn all about majestic animals and observe them in their natural habitat as you help with valuable conservation and anti-poaching research work in South Africa. Or get up close to the predators of the deep as you sign up to sail the seas and study the behaviour of sharks on a Great White shark and whale conservation project.

Round the world research

There are loads more research opportunities worldwide that will supercharge your knowledge and send your career soaring sky-high.  Why not try a reef and marine conservation project in Australia and learn about the natural beauty of this vast and extraordinary country? Or get involved with worthwhile wildlife conservation in Costa Rica or get close to some of the world's most extraordinary creatures in Mozambique on our amazing Whale Shark Conservation project.

Medical Magic

If animals are not your thing, but caring for people is top of your list of priorities and you want to gain some medical experience, then why not get involved in some medical research on your gap year?  If you sign up for a medical or healthcare internship  you can get some research experience in your chosen field and pave the way to a future career.

Radical research

Whatever your area of expertise, doing research work on your gap year is a surefire way to secure some serious new skills and send your career into the stratosphere.  Research work is a brilliant way to prove your passion to employers and university admissions tutors, and you’ll have a lot of fun along the way too.  Do some radical research and you’ll soon be raring to go!
