I am currently 20 years old, with not much of a travelling past behind me – but hoping to change that in the future and join some of the fun! I will be joining the marketing team, hoping to gain some experience in digital marketing and copywriting.
In the past I have studied literature, psychology and history at Beacon Community College and have a passion for writing, well, anything!
I grew up in a small town in East Sussex, one of those towns where nobody seems to leave, so I haven’t really caught the travelling bug – although in the short time I’ve worked here it seems infectious!
When I was 18, I travelled alone to California to visit friends, where we rented a car and toured along the beautiful beaches of West Coast America and the over-glorified tourist attractions of Los Angeles. Venice beach was my favourite stop, we spent hours wandering around the markets, watching live bands and even got roped into being extras for a TV show. The worst place we went was Hollywood, everybody seems surprised by this but it truly is nothing like how it is depicted in the movies.
More than anything, I am a festival obsessive. The music, the atmosphere, the apparent necessity to use your wellies as a pillow… I could go on. Last year I went to Glastonbury, Bestival, The Big Chill, and V Fest. The best by far, as I think anyone would agree if they have been, was Glasto. To put it simply, it was AMAZING.
As far as the future goes, I am not sure where it will lead me, I am hoping to secure some experience for a possible career in marketing then head off to Thailand and Fiji to see what the fuss is about. Hopefully I will be writing a few more blog posts over my time here, so watch this space!
