Day 2: Explore Bangkok’s culture & attractions. Today we’ll be heading out into the busy streets of Bangkok on a brilliant bicycle tour. You’ll get to weave through the city’s streets and, on your way, stop to take a better look at some of Bangkok’s most impressive sights. Later we’ll freshen up before catching the overnight bus or train to our next destination – Chiang Mai.
Day 3: Chiang Mai. You’ll wake up this morning in beautiful Chiang Mai, where you’ll start your day chilling out by your accommodation’s pool. After that you might fancy taking a look around Thailand’s cultural capital and exploring Chiang Mai for yourself. In the evening the group will head to a local cookery class, where we’ll learn to cook between three and five delicious Thai dishes.
Day 4: Elephant Experience. We’ll head out of Chiang Mai early today to make our way to an exceptional elephant home. On arrival, you’ll get to learn how the team here are working to improve conditions for elephants in Thailand before spending some time with the elephants, feeding and bathing them.
Days 5 & 6: Hill Trekking. Over the next couple of days, we’ll trek through the hills, fields, and jungle for a truly immersive experience. You’ll get to see waterfalls, rice paddies, and rivers en route and then spend the night in traditional forest huts. The next day we’ll make our way back, go bamboo rafting, and spend the afternoon back at the elephant home.
Days 7 & 8: Chiang Mai. We’ll make the journey back to Chiang Mai, and enjoy a free afternoon in the city. The next day, we’ll visit Doi Suthep, home to the most iconic temple in Chiang Mai, Wat Phra That. In the evening, we’ll be treated to a night tour of Chiang Mai’s night bazaar, one of the city’s highlights.
Day 9: Return to Bangkok. Jumping on a plane today, we’ll make our way back to Bangkok from Chiang Mai, returning to our guesthouse near Khao San Road. Enjoy another night in the centre of the city’s backpacker hub.
Day 10: Bangkok Guided Tour. We’ll get to know Bangkok properly today with a tour of the city’s top tourist attractions. We’ll go on a long-tail boat tour along the city’s canals, take a look around Wat Pho, discover the temple of the dawn, Wat Arun, and have the option of visiting the Grand Palace. Tonight, we’ll go to some of the best bars in the city.
Day 11: Fly to Krabi, Transfer to Railay. We’ll leave Bangkok this morning to catch a flight down to Krabi, where we’ll hop in a boat and jet through the sea to Railay Beach. Enjoy sunset viewing and drinks on the beach tonight.
Day 12: Caves, Islands and Snorkelling. Today’s all about having a bit of fun in the sun as you get to explore beautiful Railay and its surroundings by boat, where you’ll get to view the coast from the water, exploring nearby caves and islands, stopping off to snorkel with the colourful marine life on the way.
Day 13: Transfer to Koh Phi Phi. Now that we’ve had a taste of paradise, it’s time to get some serious beach time in… we’ll board another boat to Koh Phi Phi. Enjoy a few drinks with the rest of your group tonight – head over to the famous Reggae Bar, watch some fire dancing on the beach, then cut some shapes of your own on one of the local dancefloors.
Day 14: Island Boat Trip. Jump aboard another boat today for an island-hopping tour of your gorgeous neighbouring islands, stopping for plenty of snorkelling sessions as we go. Later we’ll visit Maya Bay – the location made famous by the film The Beach.
Day 15: Viewpoint Visit. You’ll get a chance to chill out a little today, so slow the pace right down and get some sunbathing in. Later on, we’ll take a gentle walk up to the island’s most beautiful viewpoint to enjoy the sights and get some great photos.
Day 16-20: Koh Phangan. Today we’ll make our way to Thailand’s true party isle, Koh Phangan. We’ll travel by boat, coach, and boat again to get to our destination, but once we’re there, get yourself settled in as we’ll have four whole days to enjoy the idyllic mix of party and laidback lifestyle.
Depending on the dates your trip falls on, you might find yourself at a full moon party – held at Haad Rin beach with between 10,000 and 30,000 party-goers attending each month (£203), a half moon party – where top DJs play fantastic sets in a forest setting (£20-25), or a black moon party – where you’ll dance to the latest trance music from Thai and International resident and guest DJs (£2-3).
Please note: We try our best to plan our start dates to coincide with a moon party, but this is not always possible due to circumstances beyond our control.
Day 21: Transfer to Koh Samui. We’ll head over to the gorgeous paradisiacal island of Koh Samui today. Relax in the afternoon with a few drinks on the beach.
Day 22: Project Work in Samui. Today we’ll make our way into the forest to help out at a dam building project. You’ll get to lay pipes and build dams using rocks, sand, and cement in the forest. It’s a really integral part of the work the people on Koh Samui are trying to carry out and you’ll leave the site knowing that you’ve done your bit to help out.
Day 23: Koh Samui Beach Time. You might want to keep today as a recovery day to catch up on some sleep or to chill out on the beach, but if you’re feeling energetic, why don’t you fit in a bit of island sightseeing or visit the local water park?
Day 24: Angthong National Marine Park. Head out on an incredible tour of the Angthong National Marine Park – a stunning archipelago made up of 42 beautiful islets where we’ll get to glide through turquoise waters weaving our way around this tropical hive on kayaks.
Days 25-28: Koh Tao. On day 25 we’ll make our way across to yet another idyllic tropical island. You’ll have five whole days to relax and unwind on this little slice of heaven, so indulge yourself and make the most of your surroundings.
Day 29: Tour Ends. It’s been an incredible month of travel adventures, but it’s time to say goodbye. You’ll need to make your way home or on to other travels from Koh Tao as a return transfer isn’t included, but it’s simple to arrange and your tour guide will help you make arrangements.
