Further trip information

Day 1: Sydney. Start your trip in iconic Sydney! Meet your group and trip leader before your first taste of Aussie nature, the Blue Mountains. Spend the evening with drinks in Sydney’s unique nightlife.

Day 2: Sydney. Enjoy a walking tour of Sydney to see the best of the city, snapping pics of the Opera House and Royal Botanic Gardens. Soak up the spectacular Bondi Beach’s golden sands and spend your day exploring the city.

Day 3: Sydney. You’ll be spoilt for choice with how to spend your free day today. Speed around the harbour on a jet boat ride or meet protected Sumatran Tigers, Chimps and, of course, Kangaroos and Koalas in Taronga Zoo. Try out the city’s delicious food with dinner in buzzing restaurants.

Day 4: Sydney to Byron Bay. Take a short flight over to surfers paradise, Byron Bay, where you’ll take a lesson on how to ride the waves.

Day 5: Byron Bay. Time to test out your new surfing skills today and kick back on the sunny beaches. Take a trip up to Byron Bay lighthouse or try out some sea sports with Kayaking.

Day 6: Byron Bay to Noosa Everglades via Stokers Siding. Stop to meet some farm animals before we head to Noosa Everglades and feast on a lovely dinner with the group. We’ll be spending the night in an eco lodge tonight, chilling by the campfire and snoozing in ancient rainforests.

Day 7: Noosa Everglades (K'gari Day Trip). Say g’day to your kangaroo neighbours and head to K’gari for a day exploring the sand dunes, tranquil Lake Mackenzie and refreshing lunch.

Day 8: Noosa Everglades to Airlie Beach. After a quick flight over tropical landscapes as we head to Airlie Beach, adventure the backpacker haven of Airlie Beach.

Day 9: Airlie Beach. Hop aboard a converted racing yacht for 2  memorable days sailing around the paradise of the Whitsundays, snorkelling with almost 9,000 unique creatures and soaking up the perfect vibes on deck.

Day 10: The Whitsundays. Cruise around paradise on earth, feast on fresh meals and cool down in the sea. Take a trip to heavenly Whitehaven beach, strolling on soft sand with beautiful views.

Day 11: Airlie Beach to Magnetic Island. Breathe in the fresh ocean air as we dock up in Airlie Beach. Make sure you’ve got your camera to hand as we take a scenic train ride to Townsville, to then head to Magnetic Island, right in time for a picturesque sunset.

Day 12: Magnetic Island. Enjoy the most important meal of the day whilst making best friends with adorable koalas. Magnetic Island is the perfect place for a hike, spotting WWII fortifications, dramatic views and cheeky Rock Wallabies.

Day 13: Magnetic Island to Cairns. Arrive in Cairns for a unique dinner experience. An expert chef will teach us about Bush food, how to make it, before feasting on the native game.

Day 14: Cairns. Today will be full of unique experiences as we take a day trip to Daintree Rainforest. Get to know local Kuku people, keen to teach you about their culture and history, as you take a traditional art lesson with an aboriginal artist.

Day 15: Cairns. Time for tranquil waters, gorgeous ecosystems and brilliant coral on an optional Great Barrier Reef Cruise on a catamaran. Take a dip in the turquoise ocean for a once in a lifetime scuba diving experience!

Day 16: Cairns. Cairns is famous for its awesome activities, so why not try a couple? Jump from the AJ Hackett Bungy Tower, fly into the sky with a spectacular Cairns Skydive, or white water raft down the Barron River. Dance with a few drinks in Cairns buzzing clubs in the evening.

Day 17: Cairns to Darwin. Fly over to Darwin for crocs, national parks and a special Cullen Bay sunset.

Day 18: Darwin to Kakadu National Park. Explore the city with a fascinating tour before we soak up the culture of Kakadu National Park. Immerse yourself as you learn about local Aboriginal traditions and hike up to the captivating Ubirr Lookout.

Day 19: Kakadu National Park. See aboriginal art, snap pics of unmatched scenery and discover the prehistoric Nourlangie Rocks!

Day 20: Kakadu National Park to Katherine Gorge. Kick off your morning with a cooling swim in Edith Falls. Adventure over to stunning National Park, Katherine Gorge, famed for its unique beauty.

Day 21: Katherine Gorge to Darwin. One natural wonder to another, Litchfield National park offers two cascading waterfalls, with water holes you won’t be able to resist. End the day back in Darwin.

Day 22: Darwin to Uluru. A trip to the outback would not be complete without visiting breathtaking Uluru! We’ll take a flight over from Darwin and settle into our chilled lodge for the night.

Day 23. Uluru. Wake up early for an instagrammable sunrise over Uluru! Trek to sacred Kata Tjuta for mountainous boulders and colour-changing domes. What would be a better way to see the landscape than with a thrilling Segway tour?

Day 24. Uluru. Treat your taste buds this morning with a huge BBQ breakfast! Take a day trip to Kings Canyon, discovering diverse ecosystems. Cheers to an amazing trip with a cold beer and a goodbye dinner!

Day 25. Uluru. Choose to end a stunning trip with a stunning sunrise camel ride. Wave goodbye, we’ll see you soon!

You need to arrive at the starting hostel in Sydney the day before your trip begins.  Please contact a travel advisor for more information about booking an extra night in the starting accommodation before the trip begins. 

Your trip ends in Uluru on day 25.

This trip includes 24 days of accommodation. This includes 12 nights in hostels, 5 in hotels, 3 in lodges, 2 in an eco-camp and 2 nights on a converted racing yacht whilst exploring The Whitsundays. Accommodation will typically be multi-shared rooms. Please see below for an example of accommodation you may stay in. All accommodation is subject to change.

Minimum age & eligibility

The minimum age to join this trip is 18. This trip is designed for travellers aged 18-35 years old.

All visitors to Australia (excepting those from New Zealand) will require a visa or e-visa/ETA to enter. These must be applied for before departure, and if you’re planning on working in Australia whilst you’re out here you’ll need a Working Holiday Visa. If you are just heading to Australia for fun however, an ETA will suffice. Both visas can be applied for online. Please feel free to contact us if you need any more information.
