Your adventure starts here! Make your way to your starting accommodation, through bustling streets full of traditional markets, shaman healers and indigenas. There are no activities planned today apart from a welcome meeting, so chill out after your flight, or head into the city and get exploring! Tonight, visit a local peña, for some tasty grub, and hit a salsa club and dance the night away
Day 2: Quito to Tena
Today we’re heading to Tena, from where we’ll transfer to a rural village community in the heart of the Amazon. You’ll be welcomed into the home of a Quichuan family (an indigenous people, whose way of life is under threat from mining and farming). Staying here is a real privilege and is sure to be a cultural experience you’ll never forget.
Days 3 - 4: Tena
Enjoy the most incredible couple of days staying with your Ecuadorian family, hiking through the rainforest, learning about the traditional Quichuan way of life, and visiting another local community to see how they make chocolate – yum! You’ll have the chance to go white-water rafting and visit a local animal centre too.
Day 5: Tena to Baños
We’re off to the green, unspoilt spa town of Baños today. The town is famous for its thermal springs, and adrenaline sports. You’ll arrive with plenty of time to explore.
Day 6: Baños
Explore Baños at your own pace today. Hike the local trails or join an optional excursion to the famous thermal baths, or go horse-riding, mountain-biking, white-water rafting, canyoning or ziplining – you’re spoilt for choice!
Day 7: Baños to Cuenca
Our next stop is the most beautiful city in Ecuador. Drop your bags at the hotel and head out to explore the charming colonial streets and the amazing array of bars and restaurants.
Day 8: Cuenca to Mancora, Peru
Enjoy a free day in Cuenca. Visit the fragrant flower market, check out the cathedral and grab an empanada on one of the main plazas. Don’t miss the optional trip to the mind-blowing Inca site of Ingapirca, or a visit to Cajas National Park. Tonight we’ll travel into Peru as we sleep, on the overnight bus to Mancora.
Days 9 - 10: Mancora
Are you ready for some beach-bumming? Mellow Mancora is the perfect place to bronze your bod, catch some surf, watch stunning sunsets and sample some seriously fresh ceviche. Make sure you have at least one big night out while you’re here – the nightlife is off the hook!
Day 11: Mancora to Trujillo
Enjoy another day of beach bliss in Mancora before hopping on the overnight bus to colourful Trujillo.
Day 12: Trujillo
Trujillo is a gorgeous city with lovely colonial buildings and churches waiting to be explored. Spend your day wandering the cobbled streets, and stopping for lunch in the leafy squares, or if you’re still craving the coastline, take the 20 minute bus journey to sleepy little Huanchaco.
Day 13: Trujillo to Lima
Enjoy another full day in Trujillo, exploring at your own pace. Don’t miss the optional excursion to the impressive Chan Chan ruins – a beautifully preserved pre-Incan site. Tonight we’ll nod off on the overnight bus to Lima.
Days 14: Lima
Wake up in Peru’s lively capital city. Explore the colourful mansions and palm-dotted streets, and tuck into some of Lima’s famously lip-smacking grub. We’ve got some incredible extras on offer today including a city tour, a Peruvian horse show, and a spectacular light and fountain display. Enjoy a last night out with your group.

This trip is designed with your safety and wellbeing in mind. As a result of Covid-19, many of our suppliers and partners around the world are introducing new policies and procedures surrounding health and safety in response to the Coronavirus outbreak. As the state of travel is evolving these new safety measures will adapt over time, and will be different for each trip. Here are some of the changes you may see on your trip:
Arrival safety meetings
Most trips have an arrival meeting on the first day where the guide or local team will run through the trip, the safety protocols, and to answer any questions you may have. Now more than ever it is important you arrive in time for these meetings.
Proof of vaccination or negative covid test
For the safety of all travellers, at the start of some trips you may be required to show evidence that you are fully vaccinated (14 days after your second dose) and/or show evidence of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the tour start date in order to join the programme.
Updated hygiene and safety procedures
Our suppliers and partners have health and safety procedures in place on all of our trips. These protocols will be updated and adapted as a response to the Coronavirus outbreak, dependent on local restrictions and laws.
Transport and accommodation choices
Our suppliers and partners choose the accommodation and transport on our trips very carefully, and you may see a change to what would normally be used as a response to the outbreak. This may involve such changes as enhanced use of private transport or quieter accommodation.
Trained and knowledgeable staff
Our staff in the UK are trained to help you with your trip before you depart and answer any questions you may have. In addition, the local team and guides on our trips are there to help with any health and safety concerns and to ensure our trips run safely and smoothly.
Reduced group sizes
Some trips will run with reduced group sizes to start with. You may find that trips are more intimate and chilled, whilst still being packed with fun and adventure.
Healthcare
Your guide or the local team will be on hand to help you seek medical attention should you require it during your trip. As medical facilities and standards can vary around the world, you should ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place before you depart to cover you for any medical emergencies.
24/7 emergency support
We operate an emergency phone line for our travellers abroad. This is operated by a UK based member of staff 24/7 if you have a genuine emergency or urgent matter that you need attending.
It is important that you take measures to make travelling safer for yourself and others around you. Ensure you frequently wash your hands, cover your face when you sneeze and cough, bring and use your own hand sanitiser and facial coverings/masks, and enable social distancing where necessary. You should also ensure you listen to the instructions and guidance of the local team at all times, and follow all local laws and restrictions.
