Further trip information

Day 1: Arrive in Thailand

Fly into Bangkok today. You’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your accommodation in the city, where you’ll meet your group and tour leader.

Day 2: Bangkok Tour

Cruise through the heart of Bangkok on board a traditional river boat. See resplendent temples, including Wat Pho, the largest temple in Bangkok and home to an enormous reclining Buddha. You’ll also see towering Wat Arun, known as the Temple of the Dawn. Another must see is the glimmering Grand Palace, the official residence of the king. Head back on board a tuk tuk (a classic Asian experience) and then enjoy a night out with your group after sunset.

Day 3: Cooking Class

Learn how to prepare some delicious Thai dishes at a cooking class today. Learn the traditional uses of key spices and ingredients and sample your culinary creations. Tonight, board an overnight train to southern Thailand. Watch the sky darken as the train pulls out of Bangkok. Next stop: Khao Sok National Park.

Day 4: Khao Sok National Park

Delve into the jungle landscapes of Khao Sok National Park. This off-the-beaten track region is a patchwork of soaring cliffs, sprawling green jungle and perfect placid waterways. Go kayaking, river tubing, & more. You’ll spend the night in beautiful floating bungalows. Settle in and listen to the sounds of the natural world around you.

Day 5: Khao Sok National Park

Trek through the rainforest, spot monkeys in the tree-tops, go kayaking, tube down river and spend the night in a unique jungle treehouse.

Day 6: Koh Phangan

Transfer to the beautiful island of Koh Phangan and check into your luxurious beach bungalows. Sample the island’s world-famous nightlife tonight.

Koh Phangan is the home of the famous Full Moon Party, a sprawling beach party that draws thousands of visitors every month. The sands are aglow with lights and fire-dancers, and the whole place transforms into a vibrant party paradise. This party is not included in your trip, and the tour is not guaranteed to coincide with a party on Koh Phangan. If you want to attend this party, research your dates and book onto a tour that coincides. Speak to a travel advisor for more information.

Day 7: Island Trip

Embark on an unforgettable trip around the island. Discover secluded beaches and crystal-clear snorkel spots where you can swim alongside tropical marine life. Tonight, enjoy another lively night in the beachside bars.

Day 8: Muay Thai or Yoga

A choice of cultural experiences today. Opt to try your hand at traditional Muay Thai or relax and rejuvenate with a yoga session. The rest of the day is yours to relax, wander along the beach or hike into the jungle.

Day 9: Transfer to Koh Phi Phi

Leave Koh Phangan behind and transfer to the dreamy island surroundings of Koh Phi Phi. This iconic island is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. On arrival, relax after your journey and ease into the laid-back island lifestyle in your beautiful hotel room.

Day 10: Phi Phi boat trip

Cast off across sparkling turquoise waters and discover Phi Phi’s intoxicating island landscapes. Explore the crystal-clear waters with some snorkelling and watch shoals of colourful fish flash past you. Later, watch the sky turn orange and pink as the sun sets. Then, return to the island for a night in the beach-front bars.

Day 11: Transfer to Phuket

Hike up to the Phi Phi viewpoint this morning for an out of this world view. Then transfer to Phuket by ferry and check into your boutique hotel. Phuket is another island paradise – all glimmering turquoise waters, soaring limestone karsts and sugary white-sand beaches. Spend the rest of the day exploring and relaxing.

Day 12: Elephant Sanctuary

Meet majestic elephants at an elephant sanctuary. Get up close to these spectacular creatures and help care for them. Head out for a farewell meal tonight and raise a toast to this fantastic Thai experience.

Day 13: Tour ends

Your tour ends this morning. Head to Phuket airport and fly home or on to another beautiful destination.

Hey, I’m looking at booking the SE Asia adventure for Jan, has anyone booked or have any advice on travel insurance?

Looking at booking onto a Thai Intro tour for the end of Feb and would be travelling solo. I’d hopefully meet people and continue travelling around SE Asia after x

Covid safety

This trip is designed with your safety and wellbeing in mind. As a result of Covid-19, many of our suppliers and partners around the world are introducing new policies and procedures surrounding health and safety in response to the Coronavirus outbreak. As the state of travel is evolving these new safety measures will adapt over time, and will be different for each trip. Here are some of the changes you may see on your trip:

Arrival safety meetings
Most trips have an arrival meeting on the first day where the guide or local team will run through the trip, the safety protocols, and to answer any questions you may have. Now more than ever it is important you arrive in time for these meetings.

Proof of vaccination or negative covid test
For the safety of all travellers, at the start of some trips you may be required to show evidence that you are fully vaccinated (14 days after your second dose) and/or show evidence of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the tour start date in order to join the programme.

Updated hygiene and safety procedures
Our suppliers and partners have health and safety procedures in place on all of our trips. These protocols will be updated and adapted as a response to the Coronavirus outbreak, dependent on local restrictions and laws.

Transport and accommodation choices
Our suppliers and partners choose the accommodation and transport on our trips very carefully, and you may see a change to what would normally be used as a response to the outbreak. This may involve such changes as enhanced use of private transport or quieter accommodation.

Trained and knowledgeable staff
Our staff in the UK are trained to help you with your trip before you depart and answer any questions you may have. In addition, the local team and guides on our trips are there to help with any health and safety concerns and to ensure our trips run safely and smoothly.

Reduced group sizes
Some trips will run with reduced group sizes to start with. You may find that trips are more intimate and chilled, whilst still being packed with fun and adventure.

Your guide or the local team will be on hand to help you seek medical attention should you require it during your trip. As medical facilities and standards can vary around the world, you should ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place before you depart to cover you for any medical emergencies.

24/7 emergency support
We operate an emergency phone line for our travellers abroad. This is operated by a UK based member of staff 24/7 if you have a genuine emergency or urgent matter that you need attending.

It is important that you take measures to make travelling safer for yourself and others around you. Ensure you frequently wash your hands, cover your face when you sneeze and cough, bring and use your own hand sanitiser and facial coverings/masks, and enable social distancing where necessary. You should also ensure you listen to the instructions and guidance of the local team at all times, and follow all local laws and restrictions.
