Student Travel
If you’re a student, you have probably thought about taking time off to go travelling. You may need a break from education, want to make the time in between studies extra memorable, or are simply undecided on your next steps - travel could be the answer you’re looking for.
It broadens your horizons and opens you to new experiences. You meet new people from all over the world and discover some of the most beautiful, exciting and culturally fascinating destinations on earth. The independence and confidence it gives you is something that just cannot be taught.
Whether it’s a short break or a stepping stone to life-changing adventures, now’s the perfect time to go for it and start travelling!
Leaving School?
Many students feel anxious about leaving school and what their next steps should look like. But it’s completely okay to feel undecided. Trust us, your life is only getting started!
Gap Years vs Short Breaks
What’s the difference between a gap year and a short break? While gap years are for longer periods of time (usually one academic year), short breaks are mini adventures that last from one to three weeks. Gap years can also include volunteering or paid work abroad, which are both amazing experiences to add to CVs.
Many of our gap year travellers book onto our round the world trips, which have everything from discovering one region like Central America or Asia in-depth, to exploring multiple continents!
But you don’t have to aim big to make travel count. Our short breaks are the perfect choice for so many people, especially first-time travellers. In just two weeks, discover the highlights of incredible global destinations - many of which are just a short flight from the UK - and create unique travel memories. When your trip is over, you’ll be booking your next one!
Leaving University?
Degrees open so many doors, even when it comes to travel. Not only do you have more options for paid work abroad programmes, but you can start getting qualified to
teach overseas. We offer a few different placements around the world with no previous work experience needed. Pick up essential skills while becoming an accredited teacher abroad, and explore your new second home in your free time!
There’s also the opportunity to find professional work. Kickstart your future career path and gain invaluable experience that will stand out on your CV. From internships to office jobs, you could earn while you travel.
For shorter term projects, you could always try learning a language abroad, pick up a new skill like surfing or scuba diving or volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary. Aside from building transferable skills that will help with any job, it’s a great way to spend a few weeks!

Short Breaks During Studies
We do more than just gap years! In between your student terms, take a well-deserved break and go travelling. If you’re after pure adventure, then backpacking around Europe or Asia during the summer break is one of the most popular activities for our travellers. Shorter getaways in the spring, autumn or winter can also be just what you need - especially since it’s been proven that travel actually boosts academic performance!
There are also fantastic opportunities available which can support your studies and develop your CV while abroad. From helping out at a marine conservation project to immersing yourself in a Latin American country for a few weeks to practice your Spanish, experience the best of both worlds while travelling. For most of our volunteer and learn programmes, you can stay there anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months, so there’s lots of flexibility.
