6 nights’ accommodation is included in this trip. Spend 4 nights in cosy hotels, and 2 nights on a cruise for the chance to see the magnificent Arctic Circle and northern lights. All rooms will be twin-share and will include an ensuite bathroom.
Meals
6 breakfasts and 2 dinners are included for this trip. Norwegian cuisine is super cosy and hearty with modern twists. Because the Arctic Circle produces marine life and vegetables at a different rate, the flavours taste extremely fresh and high-quality. If you’re a seafood lover, don’t forget to try the region’s famous Arctic King Crab!
Day 1: Arrive in Tromsø
Get ready for a winter adventure! Meet your group and trip leader this afternoon before going for a cosy welcome dinner. Tromsø is known as the legendary gateway to the Arctic Circle, and so you're always close to snowy mountains and the sea - even in the heart of town. It's also pretty common to catch a glimpse of the northern lights in Tromsø itself, so while you're exploring the traditional pubs and wine bars in your free time, maybe you'll get lucky and spot them!
Day 2: Tromsø free day
Today you can discover Tromsø at your own pace, or join some optional activities. You could start the morning with an Arctic safari boat trip for the chance to see orcas, humpback whales and more beautiful wildlife. Then this afternoon, you could visit a traditional Sámi camp for an unforgettable cultural experience. Get up close to reindeer during feeding time, sip hot drinks around the campfire and enjoy a group dinner while learning all about the Sámi people's traditions as nomadic reindeer herders.
Day 3: Tromsø and Arctic Circle cruise
Maybe start your morning with snowmobiling or snowshoeing (think hiking through the snow!). Today we'll ride Tromsø's famous cable car to marvel at the glistening, white-and-gold cityscape. Then get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure as we board our Arctic cruise and start sailing in search of the magical auroras!
Day 4: Sail the Arctic Circle
Discover astonishing fjords and misty cliffs before anchoring at the northernmost point in Europe, Honningsvåg, for some free time. Wander around this scenic fishing village or travel even further to the Northern Cape, which is just 2000km away from the North Pole! Sail past the coast of Lapland and see the ancient Finnkirka rock formation, before reaching the perfect location for northern lights viewing. Kick back, relax and let the auroras do the talking!
Day 5: Kirkenes
Today we'll reach the final port on our sailing expedition, a small town called Kirkenes. This destination is famous for its King Crab, and today travellers have the option to go fishing and eat this local delicacy for dinner. The world's first-ever Snow Hotel was also invented in Kirkenes, so exploring this winter wonderland is the perfect way to fill additional free time!
Day 6: Kirkenes to Tromsø
Say goodbye to Kirkenes as we board our included flight back to Tromsø, where all the magic began. Tonight you can celebrate with friends in town, or sneak in one last bit of stargazing.
Day 7: Finish trip in Tromsø
What a week it's been! As there are no activities planned for today, you can depart at any time after breakfast.
Please note activities and itineraries are subject to change.
