Four countries, four capitals, four weeks, 1 experience. This epic 30-day Indochina Discovery tour begins and ends in Bangkok. The route runs as follows:
Thailand – Cambodia – Vietnam – Laos – Thailand.
Day 1 Bangkok
Arrive at any time.
Day 2-3 Siem Reap/Angkor Wat
Discover stunning Siem Reap, enjoy a guided tour of Angkor Wat, then experience a delicious inclusive Khmer lunch in a local village school project.
Day 4-5 Phnom Penh
Arrival and included orientation walk. Optional visits to Tuol Sleng and Choeung Ek (known as the Killing Fields), Central Market, National Museum and Royal Palace.
Day 6-7 Sihanoukville
Chill out in this coastal town, and laze on the beautiful beaches, swim in gorgeous seas or take an optional snorkelling boat trip.
Day 8 Mekong Delta
Travel from Sihanoukville to Can Tho in the Mekong Delta. Experience a unique cultural highlight as you spend the night in a local village in a homestay.
Day 9-10 Ho Chi Minh City
Travel through the scenic Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City. Enjoy street food crawl with your tour guide and group in Ho Chi Minh City, where optional visits included the Cu Chi Tunnels, the War Remnants Museum and the Colonial Quarter - or pick up some bargains in Ben Thanh market. Overnight train to Nha Trang on Day 10.
Day 11-12 Nha Trang
A relaxing day by the beach, where you can take an optional snorkelling boat trip, visit a mud baths or just soak up the sun. On day 12 you take an overnight train to Hoi An.
Day 13-14 Hoi An
Enjoy a noodle making demonstration and lunch on day 13. There’s so much to do in Hoi An: Try a cooking class, explore the Chinese quarter, ride a bike to the local beach, choose an optional motorbike tour of the area or shop ‘til your drop!
Day 15-16 Hue
Stop at the spectacular Hai Van Pass en route to Hue. Optional tours include a tour of the Royal Citadel, or the Imperial Tombs, a visit to the Tien Mu Pagoda or a trip along the Perfume River. Take another overnight sleeper train towards Hanoi.
Day 17 Halong Bay/Bai Chai Harbour
See the wonders of heavenly Halong Bay, take a cruise on a sailing junk and enjoy a seafood lunch while you cruise, before visiting a cave.
Day 18-19 Hanoi
Learn all about Hanoi with an orientation walk through the old quarter. Enjoy optional visits to Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature or the Hoan Kiem Lake and choose to see a unique Water Puppet show.
Day 20 Vientiane
Take a short afternoon flight to the capital city of Laos. Optional visits can be made to temples, the National Museum, or Laos’s most important national monument at Phat That Luang, or you can just stock up on souvenirs in the all-day market.
Day 21-22 Vang Vieng
Have fun and laid-back adventures in Vang Vieng and try some optional hiking, biking, caving or swimming in this out-of-the-way spot.
Day 23-24 Luang Prabang
Here you can witness the tradition of giving alms to Buddhist monks. You can also opt to go to cooking school, try an elephant trek or bike ride, visit temples or the Royal Palace Museum, visit the Kuang Si Waterfall and Bear Rescue Centre or shop in the famous night markets.
Day 25 Mekong River
Take a slowboat along the magical Mekong River and soak up the scenery, before spending the night in a traditional village homestay with a local dinner included.
Day 26 Chiang Khong
Your second day lazing on board a boat up the Mekong River before crossing over the border into Thailand.
Day 27-28 Chiang Mai
Be charmed by Chiang Mai and take an optional visit to Doi Suthep or the Chiang Mai Zoo, or just shop at the unforgettable Night Bazaar. On Day 28, you’ll board your final sleeper train back to Bangkok.
Day 29 Bangkok
A final, free day to explore Bangkok – choose to visit Wat Po and the Grand Palace, buy some last mementoes of your trip or wind down with a Thai massage before sharing a last evening with your group.
Day 30 Bangkok
Depart at any time.
