Meals

We’ll provide you with 13 breakfasts and 6 dinners on this tour. You’ll have the freedom to eat wherever you like for the rest of the time. It’s a great opportunity to sample the incredible cuisine of India. From curry feasts, tandooris and rotis to sweets, and fresh chai, India is a foodie’s paradise! Our local guides will take us to the best eateries in every city and you’ll also enjoy an interactive cooking demo at our camp, and a guided food tasting tour of Delhi! Please let your travel advisor know if you have any dietary requirements.

Day 1: Arrive in Delhi. Welcome to India! Fly into Delhi Airport and make your way through streets buzzing with food stalls, rickshaws, people, and the occasional cow! Meet the rest of your group tonight and head out for your first taste of Indian food and a few drinks!

Day 2: Delhi tour & night train. Our first stop this morning is a Sikh temple, where we’ll visit a mass kitchen that provides free meals to residents of the city. See how they make thousands of chapattis and stir some of the huge curry pots before visiting the Lotus temple. This evening, hop on an overnight train to Bikaner.

Day 3: Bikaner jeeps and camels. Hold on to your hats – we’re heading into the vast sand dunes around Bikaner today for a jeep safari! Then we’ll get to know some of the humpy locals as we visit the Camel Research Centre. Round off your amazing day with a tasty dinner with the gang.

Day 4: Bikaner to Jodphur. Hop on a train today to the ‘Blue City’, a maze of indigo streets lined with shops and bazaars. Arrive late in the day and check in to our charming haveli accommodation in the heart of the city ahead of a rooftop dinner with views over one of our fave cities in India.

Day 5: Jodphur. Spend the morning exploring at your own pace.  This afternoon, visit the spectacular Mehrangarh Fort with our local guide, the Insta-worthy Jodphur Stepwell and the Clock Tower Market where we’ll pick up a refreshing Saffron Lassi and some freshly fried samosa – yum!

Day 6: Jodphur to Udaipur. Today we’re taking a bus to the ‘White City’ on the banks of peaceful Lake Pichola. Explore the markets and the old town with your local guide, before an unforgettable sunset cruise on the lake, and dinner under the stars at one of our favourite rooftop restaurants.

Day 7: Udaipur local village. We’re heading into the villages surrounding Udaipur by bike today, meeting the locals and stopping off at a school to meet some local children (prepare to have your heart melted by lots of big smiles!) before heading back to town for the afternoon.

Day 8: Udaipur to Pushkar. Wrapped around a shimmering lake, dotted with 52 bathing ghats and 400 blue temples, Pushkar is a photographer’s dream.  Take a tour of the city, including a blessing on the holy lake from a local Brahmin, before heading to our desert glampsite for the night!

Day 9: Pushkar hikes, yoga and cooking class. Early birds will enjoy our optional sunrise hike to a temple, or how’s about a morning yoga sesh on the deck of the infinity pool? Head into the centre of Pushkar for lunch before learning how to cook authentic Indian cuisine back at the camp.

Day 10: Pushkar to Jaipur. After breakfast today, we’re heading to Jaipur, otherwise known as the Pink City, one of the three points on India’s famed Golden Triangle. Tonight we’re headed to one of the grandest cinema theatres in the world to watch a Bollywood movie!

Day 11: Jaipur tour, monkeys & cooking demo. Take a tour of the Old Town including the local market and the rose-coloured Palace of the Winds. Then hop in a tuk tuk to Galta-Ji (AKA Monkey Temple!) to meet the cheeky residents. This evening, enjoy a mouth-watering cooking demo.

Day 12: Jaipur to Agra & Taj Mahal sunset. Take a train to Agra this morning where we’ll take a tuk tuk to a garden south of the famous Taj Mahal to see the famous building bathed in golden light as the sun goes down. Grab some dinner and hit the pillow early – we’re up for sunrise tomorrow!

Day 13: Taj Mahal & Agra to Delhi. See the Taj at its most spectacular this morning, as the sunrise paints the sky a kaleidoscope of colours. Our local guide will show us round the spectacular building before we head to Old Delhi for a rickshaw food tour including some sweet treats!

Day 14: Trip end. Your amazing adventure in India comes to an end today. Say your goodbyes and head to the airport whenever you’re ready. See you next time!
