European Cities That You Simply MUST Visit!

By George Meredith

Last updated: 29th July 2017

Here at Gap360, we’re pretty passionate about Europe. We love the culture, the cities, the atmosphere… The only thing we can’t agree on is which part of Europe we like BEST.

Check out our team’s recommendations for their favourite European cities that you should visit this summer.

Jon says… Madrid!

This fiery city has it all. Great culture, fantastic food and wine, and some crazy good nightlife. Football fans should take a tour of the Bernabéu stadium (or better still, try and catch a game!). Spend the evenings drinking beer at tables in the street, or check out a Flamenco show – a distinctly Spanish experience!

Caroline says… Dubrovnik!

This fairy tale city is unbelievably beautiful. Spend your time here wandering the Old Town, or hit the beach for some serious sunbathing! Also, Game of Thrones was filmed here, so keep an eye out for locations you might recognise!

George says… Berlin!

There are loads of things to see and do in the daytime: wandering up and down Unter Den Linden, visiting the Berlin Wall, getting a panoramic view of the city from the top of the Fernsehturn. At night, the city really comes alive. Stick around West Berlin for classy cocktails and live music. Venture into East Berlin for 24-hour, non-stop partying!

Sophie says… Florence!

This city is picture-perfect in every sense of the word. The cityscape is a sea of white walls and red roofs, and all of the cosy streets hide a new bar or coffee shop to try. There is a lot of history to discover, but the city has a modern twist too. Look out for modern street art in unexpected places! Best of all, the city is surrounded by vineyards. This means that the wine is amazing and, better still, always flowing!

Chris says… Copenhagen!

Denmark’s capital city has loads to offer for the intrepid backpacker! An amusement park right in the centre of the city, a zoo with tigers and hippos, and a massive beer factory and museum! What’s not to love?

Who do you agree with? Let us know your favourite European city in the comments!
