This tour is semi-guided. That means you’ll have your tour guide with you in Sydney and Byron Bay to make sure your trip gets off to a perfect start, before travelling on with the new friends you’ve made. You’ll also always have a guide with you for included activities. When you’re travelling with your group on the semi-guided portion, you’ll have access to an app-based travel guide that will give you suggested activities for each destination, optional activities to book, free activities, and food and drink recommendations.

Day 1: Welcome to Sydney & bus to Byron. Meet your Sydney tour guide at our comprehensive welcome meeting this afternoon. Then head out for a cool secret Sydney activity before a mouthwatering welcome dinner. Once we’ve filled our bellies we’ll hop on the overnight bus to beautiful Byron Bay.

Days 2 - 4: Byron Bay. Wake up as the bus rolls into Byron on day 2 and meet your Byron Bay guide. We’ll be staying in a cool surf house just 100 metres from the beach, with a scenic rooftop bar. The next couple of days are all about that beach life. We’ll take a local tour on our first day and on our second evening we’ve lined up a sunset river kayak tour.

Days 5 – 6: Surfers Paradise. On day 5, say goodbye to your tour guide and continue up the coast with your new mates. Before you part ways, your guide will run a session to give you everything you need for the rest of your time in Australia. Your next stop is Surfers Paradise, where you’ll be spending two days enjoying that golden stretch of sand and the backpacker pubs.

Days 7 – 9: Brisbane. Next stop Brissy! You’ve got a couple of days here to make the most of its vibrant markets, museums, and leafy parks, as well as taking a day trip out to the stunning Tamborine National Park for hidden waterfalls, wine tasting, and glow-worms!

Days 10 – 12: Noosa. Noosa is as popular with Aussies as travellers and once you’ve experienced its perfect surf conditions, boutique shops, and eclectic nightlife it’s easy to see why. Spend the next few days catching waves, chilling poolside, and visiting the Fairy Pools in the National Park.

Days 13 – 14: Everglades wildlife camp. Your home for the next two days is one of the most pristine wilderness environments in Australia - Noosa Everglades. You’ll be staying in an amazing eco-camp with an onsite microbrewery, and tons of waterfront activities. Experience the beauty of the National Park by boat cruise and canoe as we cruise down the River of Mirrors. Just amazing.

Days 15 – 16: Rainbow Beach. Continue your journey up the coast to Rainbow Beach, jump-off point to K’gari, a striking island made entirely of sand. We’ll spend two nights here exploring its unique coloured cliffs, pristine beaches, and massive sand dunes.

Days 17 – 19: K’gari. Take the boat over to K’gari and prepare to make some serious memories! Spend the next 3 days exploring the rainforest, sand blows, and rolling dunes in a 4WD vehicle, stopping to swim in the sparkling lakes, and camping out under the stars. Spend day 19 continuing to explore K’gari before making your way to Rainbow Beach.

Days 20: Rainbow Beach. Enjoy your day at Rainbow Beach after the most unforgettable adventure. You’ll have one more night and day in this lively town before taking an overnight bus to Airlie Beach on day 20.

Days 21 – 23: Airlie Beach & The Whitsundays. You’ll be based in backpacker heaven, Airlie Beach for the next three days and use it as your launchpad for exploring the jewel-like Whitsundays. Take a boat trip, stopping at all the best snorkel spots and the famous Whitehaven Beach.  You’ll also see the islands from above on a once-in-a-lifetime flight over Heart Reef – bucket-list ticked!

Days 24 – 25: Magnetic Island. Your next destination is beautiful Magnetic Island. This tropical paradise features scenic nature trails, secluded beaches, and loads of wildlife. Take on the famous Forts Walk, hire a kayak, or take out your very own Barbie car – watch out for the rock wallabies!

Days 26 – 30: Cairns & the Great Barrier Reef. Round off your adventure in the tropical city of Cairns. You’ll be staying in a legendary backpacker resort with its own pool and bar. We’ll take you for the most amazing boat trip on the one-and-only Great Barrier Reef and enjoy one final farewell dinner before saying our goodbyes on day 30. Better start planning your next trip!
