Further trip information

Day 1: Bangkok. Land in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and make your way to your guesthouse. There are no activities planned today apart from a welcome meeting this evening, so depending what time you land, spend some time exploring the charming chaos of the city.

Day 2: Bangkok to Siem Reap. Today we’ll head into the Thai countryside towards the Cambodian border. We’ll stop off on the way, at a restaurant project that gives local people the opportunity to learn new skills. Dump your bags at your Siem Reap hotel and then head out for some beers.

Day 3: Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. Today starts with a real bucket list moment – sunrise over Angkor Wat. Spend the rest of the day exploring the site, including a guided visit to Ta Prohm , the temple where Tomb Raider was filmed. Tonight, enjoy a big night out with your travel buddies.

Day 4: Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. Travel to the capital of Phnom Penh today. On arrival, your guide will take you on an orientation walk around the city. This evening, explore the many bars and restaurants in the lively city centre with your group.

Day 5: Phnom Penh. Free day in historic Phnom Penh. Opt to visit the Tuol Sleng Museum and the Killing Fields, sombre memorials to the tragedies that occurred under the Khmer Rouge. You’ll also have time to explore the modern city.

Day 6: Phnom Penh to Koh Rong. Journey to Sihanoukville where we'll catch a ferry to Koh Rong. Enjoy the rest of the day in paradise, sun-bathing, snoozing or wandering along the shore-line with the warm water washing over your feet – life doesn’t get much better than this!

Day 7: Koh Rong. A day of blissful island living. Wake up and head to the sands for some relaxation or join an optional snorkelling boat trip. Take a swim tonight and look for the magical sparkle of phosphorescent plankton in the water.

Day 8: Koh Rong to Chambok. Leave the island behind and journey into rural Cambodia to a traditional village homestay where you’ll spend the night immersed in local life.

Day 9: Chambok Homestay to Ho Chi Minh City. Hop over the border into Vietnam and travel through the beautiful Mekong Delta, stopping off for a boat trip around a floating market. Arrive into Ho Chi Minh City and enjoy a street food crawl around some of the city’s best eating spots.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City. You’ve got a free day to explore buzzing Ho Chi Minh today. This evening, we’ll board an overnight train to Nha Trang.

Day 11: Nha Trang. Wake up as the train pulls into Nha Trang. You’ve got a free day to enjoy this lovely town and its 6km long sandy beach. Nha Trang really comes to life when the sun goes down, so save some energy for the party!

Day 12: Nha Trang to Da Nang. Enjoy a final free day in Da Nang. You might like to take one of the optional activities that you didn’t do yesterday. This evening, hop on the sleeper train again – we’re off to Da Nang.

Day 13: Hoi An. The train arrives into Da Nang this morning and it’s a short transfer to Hoi An, a gorgeous lamp lit town of tailors and riverside bars. Tonight, treat your taste buds with a street food crawl through the city.

Day 14: Hoi An. This morning, we’ll head over to a fantastic noodles project, which helps local young people improve their English and widen their skill set. You’ll prepare a number of different dishes and tuck into your creations for lunch! The rest of the day is free.

Day 15: Hoi An to Hue. Embark on the 4-hour journey north to the city of Hue, where we’ll enjoy a free afternoon to explore. Opt for a visit to the Imperial Citadel, a cruise on the Perfume River, or a motorbike tour of the city.

Day 16: Hue and Phong Nha. Spend some more time exploring Hue today. Take in some more of the Citadel, slurp some pho at one of the street-kitchens, or get your haggle on at a local market. This afternoon we’ll travel to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

Day 17: Phong Nha to Hanoi. Spend the day exploring the Park. Think spectacular caves, lush jungle and limestone cliffs. Opt for a tour of the Park’s caves, including Son Doong – one of the largest on Earth. Tonight, board the sleeper train to Hanoi.

Day 18: Hanoi / Ha Long. Arrive early morning into Hanoi and transfer to the unforgettable Ha Long Bay. Board a traditional junk boat and marvel at the stunning scenery. We’ll stop off for a seafood lunch before returning to Hanoi for the evening.

Day 19: Hanoi and Ha Long Bay. Take an orientation walk through the city’s maze-like Old Quarter. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you please. You might like to take an optional temple tour. Tonight, enjoy Hanoi’s wicked nightlife with your group.

Day 20: Hanoi and Trip End. Your amazing trip round Cambodia and Vietnam finishes today. Leave whenever you like. If you’re staying on, why not take some more time to uncover the riches of Hanoi. If you’re travelling on, your guide can help you with airport transfers or any onward travel.
