Volunteer & Safari Adventure: 15 days

Day 1: Arrival and Orientation.

Day 2-14: Two weeks of wildlife conservation, safaris and adventure in South Africa! Stay on a private game reserve, enjoy game drives, and see animals up close as a member of a wildlife conservation team. Volunteer with kids at local community projects, experience horseback safaris, and go on guided bushwalks through gorgeous South African landscapes. You’ll also enjoy an unforgettable 2-night camping adventure in world-famous Kruger National Park! This unique South African adventure will take your breath away!

Day 15: Volunteer & Safari Adventure ends.


Thai Adventure: 29 days

Travelling with your group from Bangkok, you’ll mix city adventure with temple exploration on this fabulous four week trip. Uncover worlds of culture, have an elephant experience and go adventure trekking, as well as volunteering with communities! You’ll also spend time on the idyllic islands of Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan, an experience not to be missed!

Week 1: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Elephant Home and Hill Trekking!

Kicking off in the buzzing city of Bangkok you'll explore temples and palaces and take a boat ride in this lively Thai capital city, before enjoying a VIP bus journey to Chiang Mai. Enjoy a Thai cookery class and a full day at an amazing Elephant Home. Next, head off into the Thai hills for an incredible two-day trek!

Week 2: Krabi and Phi Phi Island

Fly down south and laze your days away on stunning beaches or hang out at the local bars in Krabi and Phi Phi. Your guide can advise you about some awesome optional activities in the area before going on a boat trip in the famous Railay Beach.

Week 3 Koh Phangan

Try a spot of scuba diving or snorkelling, sail around Koh Phangan or just soak up some rays with a well deserved cocktail. This laid-back paradise island is famous for hosting the world famous Full Moon and Black Moon parties. We try our best to plan most of our start dates to coincide with a legendary Full, Black or Half Moon party but please note that this is not always possible.

Week 4: Samui Volunteering and Koh Tao

Hop on a ferry and spend time lending a helping hand as you head to the idyllic Thai island of Koh Samui for a spot of volunteering and some down time in this wonderful beach paradise. 

Relax and soak up the sun with a few amazing days on the beautiful Thai island of Koh Tao. Staying a stone’s throw from a beautiful beach, you also have all the best bars and restaurants on your doorstep during your stay on the island. The beaches and coastline hide a vast array of activities, such as snorkelling, quad biking, abseiling, cycling, rock climbing, kayaking and other water sports. Try Muay Thai boxing, relax with some yoga or enjoy a Thai massage. Please note that all optional activities will be at an extra cost.

Thai Adventure 2019 - If you are travelling in 2019 you will follow a slightly different Thai Adventure itinerary. Your tour will last 25 days ending on Koh Tao. Contact a travel advisor for more information.

About the Parties

We try to plan our trips to coincide with a Full, Black or Half Moon Party on Koh Phangan. The Full Moon Party, which takes place on stunning Haad Rin beach, is the most famous party on Koh Phangan. People travel from all across the globe to attend this unforgettable night; and you could be one of anywhere between 10,000 – 30,000 people! Entry costs approx. £2-3. The Black Moon Party hosts a night filled with the latest trance music from Thai and International residents, and guest DJs. Entry costs approx. £2-3. The Half Moon Party is the coolest music party on Koh Phangan. Top DJs play fantastic sets and the forest setting creates a buzzing, intimate vibe. Entry costs approx. £20-25.


Sun, Sea, Sail, and Surf: 2 weeks

Day 1: Sydney to Crescent Head. Surf lesson and stay at surf camp at Crescent Head.

Day 2: Crescent Head & Byron Bay: BBQ lunch. Travel to Byron Bay.

Day 3: Byron Bay: A free day to discover the delights of laid-back Byron Bay. 

Day 4: Gold Coast: Stop off at the ‘Natural Arch’ en route to Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. Free afternoon.

Day 5: Brisbane & Fraser Island: River boat cruise in Brisbane & free time in the city, followed by a ferry to fabulous Fraser Island.

Day 6: Fraser Island: See the rainforests, beaches and lakes of the world’s largest sand island today on a guided 4-wheel drive trip around Fraser Island. 

Day 7: Outback Farm: Head outback into the bush to stay on a family-run cattle station. Try horse riding or take a motorbike tour. 

Day 8: Outback Farm: Campfire breakfast followed by optional activities.

Day 9: The Whitsundays: Journey to Airlie Beach and hop on board a private yacht and sail overnight around the wonderful Whitsunday Islands. 

Day 10: Magnetic Island: Spend another day in the Whitsundays before heading to your resort on idyllic Magnetic Island.

Day 11: Magnetic Island: Relax and explore Magnetic Island. 

Day 12: Cairns: Travel along the East Coast into Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. 

Day 13 & 14: Cairns: Free time to enjoy all that Cairns has to offer! 


Kiwi Discovery Pass: Minimum 28 days, valid for 12 months

Valid for 12 months, your bus pass allows you to spend up to a year exploring New Zealand, or if you prefer you can complete the entire tour route in a minimum of 28 days (although we recommend you allow around 38 days to make the most of your travel pass experience). 

You don't have to start in Auckland! You can start and end at any stop along the route!

You should arrange your arrival into Auckland the day before the tour begins, as there is an early start in the morning!

Day 1: Auckland to Paihia, Bay of Islands. Your flexible, hop-on-hop-off tour begins today at 7am in the lively city of Auckland. Your destination is the relaxing seaside town of Paihia, known as the ‘gateway to the Bay of Islands’. Visit Parry Kauri Forest Park.

Day 2: Paihia to Cape Reinga and Back. Stop off at Te Paki Stream to try some inclusive dune surfing and sandboarding, before arriving at Cape Reinga. Please note: Today is a round day trip from Paihia and you cannot hop off the bus today. 

Day 3: Paihia to Auckland. Today is a free day to relax and enjoy Paihia at your leisure. Join a boat cruise, sign up to swim with dolphins, laze on the beach or hike to the famous Harura Falls. In the afternoon, the bus will take you back to the bright lights of Auckland. 

Day 4: Auckland to Hahei. Travel south to the stunning Coromandel Peninsula and settle into your beachfront accommodation. Head over to Hot Water Beach to dig and relax in your own personal hot water pool! (weather & tide dependent)

Day 5: Hahei. Free day to relax and soak up the beautiful surroundings and awesome optional activities of Hahei.

Days 6-7: Hahei to Rotorua. Journey through the rolling hills of the Waikato region. Optional activities include visiting The Lord of the Rings Hobbiton set. Free day to relax and explore in geothermal Rotorua.

Day 8: Rotorua to Lake Aniwhenua. Maori guided tour, activities, meals and stay at Lake Aniwhenua (optional: extra cost of NZD89). Optional activities include: traditional fishing, eeling, weaving lessons, cooking classes and kayaking (cost NZD10-20).

Day 9: Lake Aniwhenua (via Taupo) to Whakahoro. See the stunning Huka Falls then visit Lake Taupo. Optional skydiving (approx NZD250). Rural country farm visit and overnight stay. 

Day 10: Whakahoro. Explore the countryside around the rural country farm. Optional activities include a 4x4 tour, a horse trek or kayaking.

Day 11: Whakahoro to Raetihi. Explore the Tongariro National Park. Option to do legendary 1-day Tongariro Crossing Alpine Walk (extra cost). Stay overnight at a historic Nurses’ Home in Raetihi.

Day 12: Raetihi to Wellington. Travel to Wellington. Free time to explore New Zealand’s capital city.

Day 13: Wellington to Marahau (Abel Tasman National Park). 8am ferry to South Island (extra cost of approx. NZD55). Visit to Marlborough wine-making region (optional wine tasting). Final destination of the day is Marahau, on the edge of Abel Tasman National Park. 

Day 14: Marahau (Abel Tasman National Park). Explore Abel Tasman National Park. Optional activities on offer include sailing, kayaking, skydiving, stand up paddleboarding or hang gliding. All optional activities are at an extra cost.

Day 15: Marahau to Franz Josef. Journey along the rugged west coast. See the seal colony at Cape Foulwind and the unusual Punakaiki Pancake Rocks with their impressive blowholes. Stop off at the mining town of Greymouth and Hokitika en route to Franz Josef.

Day 16: Franz Josef. Free day to explore the area around the fantastic Franz Josef Glacier. Join a guided bush hike, or enjoy a heli-hop and tour of the unique icy area, including entry to hot pools (extra cost of NZD250).

Day 17: Franz Josef to Wanaka. See Lake Matheson, travel through Haast Pass and Makarora, see Lake Hawea then end up in Wanaka in the late afternoon. 

Day 18-19: Wanaka to Queenstown. Early walk up Mount Iron or skydive (skydive extra cost). On to Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world! Spend 2 unforgettable nights here.

Day 20: Queenstown to Gunn’s Camp. Start early for a scenic drive past Lake Wakatipu, before arriving in magical Milford Sound. Opt to do a Milford Sound boat cruise (extra cost) before travelling on to Gunn’s Camp. 

Day 21: Gunn’s Camp to Invercargill/Stewart Island. Take a leisurely stroll through beautiful beech forests on a Viewing Gantry walk. Travel South to Invercargill. Hop across to Stewart Island (ferry at own cost) or stay in Invercargill overnight instead.

Day 22: Invercargill/Stewart Island to Queenstown. If you stayed on Stewart Island, enjoy a free morning before travelling back to the mainland (ferry at own cost). If you chose to stay in Invercargill overnight, you’ll head out on a tour sea-lion, penguin and dolphin spotting. Travel back to Queenstown. 

Day 23: Queenstown to Aoraki/Mt Cook. Arrive at the base of New Zealand’s highest mountain Aoraki/ Mt Cook in the early afternoon. Take a short walk, join a 4WD tour or visit the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre.

Day 24: Mount Cook to Rangitata (via Tekapo). Journey through ‘Lord of the Rings country’ and stop off at the sparkling waters of Lake Tekapo. Take an optional hike up to Mt John observatory for a killer view. Tonight, stay in an original sheep station in Rangitata Peel Forest.

Day 25: Rangitata to Christchurch. Optional white water rafting or horse riding this morning. Spend the night in the wonderful city of Christchurch.

Day 26: Christchurch to Kaikoura. Journey up the beautiful east coast to Kaikoura. Spot seals, soak up the spectacular views, swim with dolphins or go whale-spotting (seasonal). 

Day 27: Kaikoura (via Picton) to Wellington. Travel along the wild coast, stopping at a seal colony en route to Picton. You can choose to stop off here, or catch a ferry (extra cost of NZD51-75) across the Cook Strait to Wellington. 

Day 28: Wellington to Auckland. Leaving at 6.40am, you’ll zip back to your starting point in Auckland today, arriving in the late afternoon. Here your epic hop-on-hop-off adventures come to an end! 

Don’t forget, you can hop on and off along the route for up to a year!
