Day 1: Delhi. Get to know your guide and group at a meeting this morning, before exploring Old and New Delhi, including a Jain temple and some bustling markets. Enjoy dinner and a quick Hindi language lesson later, before heading to a local Sikh Temple.
Day 2: Delhi to Varanasi. Spend your day exploring the city’s streets filled with people, markets, cows, and rickshaws and get your culture on with optional visits to Lodhi Garden, Aagrasen ki Baoli or Aksardham before hopping on the night train to India’s most sacred city.
Day 3: Varanasi. Wake up as the train arrives in Varanasi. Have your fill with an optional street food breakfast tour before exploring the old town. Then take in the sights, smells and sounds of the ghats, including a Ganga Aarti ceremony where devotees float flowers and candles down the River.
Day 4: Varanisi to Agra. Start the day with a sunrise cruise down the Ganges – watch as the city wakes up, with locals washing in the river and praying on the banks – unforgettable. Then spend the afternoon taking in more of the city, before boarding the sleeper train to Agra.
Day 5: Agra. Wake up as we roll into Agra. Spend the day exploring the city. You might like to take an optional visit to the stunning Red Fort or cool off in a rooftop hotel pool this afternoon. This evening, why not enjoy a traditional Indian meal and drinks at the Hotel Taj Resort with your group?
Day 6: Agra to Jaipur. This morning we’re up early for a sunrise visit to the majestic Taj Mahal – it’s a real bucket list moment. Transfer to Jaipur this afternoon. Check out Nahargarh Fort and the wonderful views over the city before your second Hindi language lesson.
Day 7: Jaipur. Today we’re off to Monkey Temple where you can feed the cheeky inhabitants. You can also bathe in the temple pools. Later visit the Amber Fort, before opting to enjoy a Bollywood movie at a local theatre for a unique Indian experience. Then try a range of local foods on an optional food court tour.
Day 8: Jaipur. Have a lie in, or choose to enjoy explore the Insta-worthy Pink City. Take a stop at the City Palace or go all out with a balloon safari over the city. This afternoon try block-printing or tie dye at an Indian art class. Tonight, we’ll jump on a sleeper train to Jaisalmer.
Day 9: Jaisalmer. Arrive in Jaisalmer where you’ll be picked up by the Camel Safari guides. Head deep into the desert by jeep, riding the last stretch to the camp on camel-back. Tonight, enjoy a delicious meal and Indian music round the campfire before sleeping out in the open under the stars.
Day 10: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur. Wake up early to catch sunrise before hopping on your camel and heading to a desert village to meet the locals. After you’ve said goodbye to your camel buddy this afternoon, visit Jaisalmer Fort or Gadsisar or Sagar Lake. Transfer to Jodhpur this evening with a third Hindi lesson en route.
Day 11: Jodhpur. This morning take a walking tour of the Blue City’s old centre. Later, get your adrenaline pumping with a flying fox zip wire over the Mehrangarh Fort. You can also take part in a Krishna cooking class, where you’ll put together some traditional Rajasthani dishes.
Day 12: Mumbai. Take a morning flight to vibrant Mumbai. We’ll arrive mid-afternoon and take a short orientation walk before our last night together in India.
Day 13: Trip end. It’s time to swap contact numbers and say your goodbyes. Your amazing India Adventure has come to an end. Transfer to the airport or continue your travels. See you soon!

The guided tour of Delhi which is currently on day 2 will be on day 1 instead, and day 2 will feature some exciting new optional activities including morning visits to Lodhi garden, Khan Market, India Gate, Presidential Street and Aagrasen ki Baoli).

Arrival
Arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL).
The welcome meeting is held at 7 pm in your starting accommodation you’ll need to make your own way to your starting accommodation to begin your adventure.
Please note for departures after March 2023: the welcome meeting at 9 am in your starting accommodation so you may want to fly in a day early and book an additional night of pre-trip accommodation. Your travel advisor can help with this. You’ll need to make your own way to your starting accommodation.
For your arrival transfer, we recommend you only use the prepaid taxi service offered by the Delhi Traffic Police at the airport, located at a designated counter outside the baggage-claim area. You pay your fare in advance at the counter, which should be between INR200-300. Only give your driver the payment slip when you reach your destination and don’t add any payment, other than a small optional tip.
Departure
Your trip finishes on day 13 in Mumbai. Return transfers are not included but are easy to arrange locally. Your guide can help with this.
You’ll be staying in a variety of hostels during your trip in a mixture of single sex or mixed sex dorms of up to 10 people. Some nights will be on overnight trains. Sleeper trains are a great way to see a lot of the country and to learn about daily Indian life from the locals. Private room upgrades for some nights of the trip may be available at extra cost. Please speak to a travel advisor for more details.
Dinner is included on the first night in the hostel in Delhi, and a delicious vegetarian dinner and breakfast will be provided on the camel trek on days 9 and 10. You’ll have to buy all your other meals yourself. Your tour guide will be able to recommend brilliant local restaurants and eateries whilst you’re away to make the most of the world-famous Indian cuisine.
The minimum age for this trip is 18 years old.
This trip mainly attracts ages 18-35, please note the maximum age to join this tour is 55.

This trip is designed with your safety and wellbeing in mind. Arrival safety meetings
Most trips have an arrival meeting on the first day where the guide or local team will run through the trip, the safety protocols, and to answer any questions you may have. Now more than ever it is important you arrive in time for these meetings.
Proof of vaccination or negative covid test
For the safety of all travellers, at the start of some trips you may be required to show evidence that you are fully vaccinated (14 days after your second dose) and/or show evidence of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the tour start date in order to join the programme.
Updated hygiene and safety procedures
Our suppliers and partners have health and safety procedures in place on all of our trips. These protocols will be updated and adapted as a response to the Coronavirus outbreak, dependent on local restrictions and laws.
Transport and accommodation choices
Our suppliers and partners choose the accommodation and transport on our trips very carefully, and you may see a change to what would normally be used as a response to the outbreak. This may involve such changes as enhanced use of private transport or quieter accommodation.
Trained and knowledgeable staff
Our staff in the UK are trained to help you with your trip before you depart and answer any questions you may have. In addition, the local team and guides on our trips are there to help with any health and safety concerns and to ensure our trips run safely and smoothly.
Reduced group sizes
Some trips will run with reduced group sizes to start with. You may find that trips are more intimate and chilled, whilst still being packed with fun and adventure.
Healthcare
Your guide or the local team will be on hand to help you seek medical attention should you require it during your trip. As medical facilities and standards can vary around the world, you should ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place before you depart to cover you for any medical emergencies.
24/7 emergency support
We operate an emergency phone line for our travellers abroad. This is operated by a UK based member of staff 24/7 if you have a genuine emergency or urgent matter that you need attending.
It is important that you take measures to make travelling safer for yourself and others around you. Ensure you frequently wash your hands, cover your face when you sneeze and cough, bring and use your own hand sanitiser and facial coverings/masks, and enable social distancing where necessary. You should also ensure you listen to the instructions and guidance of the local team at all times, and follow all local laws and restrictions.
