Day 1:Delhi. Welcome to India! Travel from the airport to your hostel. You’ll get to know your guide and group at a meeting this evening, which will be held in the rooftop restaurant of the hostel. You’ll be served a delicious dinner as well. After dinner we’ll head to a local Sikh Temple.
Day 2: Varanasi. Take the short flight to India’s most sacred city. Explore the atmospheric old town before takingan unforgettable boat ride down the Ganges at dusk. Opt to watch a Ganga Aarti ceremony where devotees float flowers and candles down the River. Then enjoy a yummy group dinner.
Day 3: Varanasi to Agra. Start today with a sunrise cruise down the Ganges. Take in the sights, smells and sounds of the ghats as Varanasi wakes up. After, walk around the city or tour the Sarnath Buddhist and Hindu archaeological site. Tonight, travel from Varanasi to Agra on a sleeper train.
Day 4: Agra. Wake up in Agra, where you’ll spend the day exploring the city. Why not check out the striking red fort? This afternoon escape the heat with a dip in a rooftop pool. Tonight, enjoy a delicious Indian meal and drinks with your mates at the Hotel Taj Resort.
Day 5: Agra to Jaipur. This morning we’re up early for a sunrise visit to the majestic Taj Mahal – it’s a real bucket list moment. Transfer to Jaipur this afternoon. Check out Nahargarh Fort and the wonderful views over the city. This evening have a drink at the Padao Restaurant with your group.
Day 6: Jaipur. Today we’re off to Monkey Temple where you can feed the cheeky inhabitants. You can also bathe in the temple pools. Later, visit the Amber Fort. This beautiful building is one of the most historic places you can visit in Jaipur. Tonight, try a range of local foods in a food court.
Day 7: Jaipur to Jaisalmer.Enjoy a private morning tour of the Insta-worthy Pink City. Take a stop at the City Palace or go all out with a balloon safari over the city. This afternoon try block-printing or tie dye at an Indian art class. Tonight, we’ll jump on a sleeper train to Jaisalmer.
Day 8: Jaisalmer. Arrive in Jaisalmer where you’ll be picked up by the Camel Safari guides. Head deep into the desert by jeep, riding the last stretch to the camp on camel-back. Tonight, enjoy a delicious meal and Indian music round the campfire before sleeping out in the open under the stars.
Day 9: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur. Wake up early to catch the sunrise before hopping back on your camel and heading to a desert village to meet the locals. Later, after you’ve said goodbye to your camel buddy, visit Jaisalmer Fort or visit Gadsisar or Sagar Lake. Transfer to Jodhpur this evening.
Day 10: Jodhpur. This morning take a walking tour of the Blue City’s old centre. Later, get your adrenaline pumping with a flying fox zip wire over the Mehrangarh Fort. You can also take part in a Krishna cooking class, where you’ll put together some traditional Rajasthani dishes.
Day 11: Udaipur. Hop on the bus to Udaipur. On arrival, make your way on foot to the city palace.
Explore the streets of Udaipur before taking a sunset boat cruise across Lake Pichola and watching a traditional Indian arts performance. Tonight, enjoy an evening meal at the lakeshore restaurant.
Day 12: Udaipur to Mumbai. This morning get hands on with the some cuties at Animal Aid, a local rescue centre. After, take a henna class or learn the sitar or Indian drums at Udaipur Art Villa. You can also take a relaxing yoga class. Later, jump on the overnight train to Mumbai.
Day 13: Mumbai. Watch the landscape fly by on the way to Mumbai. Say goodbye to India if you’re heading home today. We recommend flying out after 7:30pm, or on the following day, to allow plenty of time.

Arrive into New Delhi Airport on Day 1 of the trip with plenty of time for the evening pre-departure meeting. We strongly recommend arriving in the morning as you will be taking an overnight train that night.
Your trip finishes on day 13 in Mumbai. Your train is scheduled to arrive around 2pm. We recommend flying out after 7:30pm on day 13 or the following day. The local team can assist you in arranging an extra night locally if needed. Airport transfers are not included, but easy to arrange.
If you are arranging your own transfer we recommend you only use the prepaid taxi service offered by the Delhi Traffic Police at the airport, located at a designated counter outside the baggage-claim area. You pay your fare in advance at the counter, which should be between INR200-300 (approx £3). Only give your driver the payment slip when you reach your destination and don’t add any payment, other than a small optional tip.
You will be staying in a variety of hostels during your trip in a mixture of single sex or mixed sex dorms of up to 10 people. Some nights will be on overnight trains.
No meals are included on this trip. Your personal travel advisor can recommend a food budget for you, and your tour guide will be able to recommend brilliant local restaurants and eateries whilst you’re away to make the most of the world-famous Indian cuisine.
The minimum age for this trip is 18 years old and is open to all young-at-heart backpackers and adventurers. All foreign nationals require a visa which must be obtained before travel in order to enter India.
