You will need to arrange your flights to arrive into Darwin International Airport on your start date. A free airport shuttle service is included which takes you to the centre of Darwin, close to your hostel accommodation.
You will receive 7 nights’ accommodation during the first week. You will stay in a centrally located hostel, including a free breakfast every day, whilst you settle into your new life Down Under.
What do I do about accommodation after the first week?
After the first week, most of our travellers choose to rent an apartment, often sharing with the new friends they have made in the first week. The jobs team in Darwin will be able to advise you of suitable accommodation options in The Northern Territory. You can expect to pay around £150 per week on average for rent in Australia. The minimum contract is normally 3 months but some agencies will ask you to commit to six months. Alternatively you can extend your stay in a hostel, which offers cheaper rates for those that want a long term stay. You can often walk in and get a room that day but we recommend that you make a reservation the night before. Depending on where you stay, you can expect to pay around £140- £175 per week in a hostel.
Please note that when you are working in Australia, you will earn more than enough to cover any living expenses such as rent, food and bills. If you would like any more information about costs and accommodation please speak to your travel advisor for more details.
