Further trip information

Day 1: La Paz

Arrive in the soaring Bolivian cultural capital of La Paz today, in time for a 6pm welcome meeting where you will meet your guide and group.

Day 2: La Paz/Sucre

Spend the morning exploring the capital city before taking a short, inclusive afternoon flight to beautiful, colonial Sucre.

Day 3-4: Sucre

This colonial city is often called the ‘White City’ and you have 2 days of free time to wander its streets, join optional excursions to nearby dinosaur tracks or go hiking or biking in the surrounding scenery.

Day 5: Sucre/Potosí

Travel on by local bus from Sucre to Potosí, where you have some free time to explore the city or join an optional and unforgettable visit to a working local silver mine (extra cost of USD21).

Day 6: Potosi/Uyuni

Head south to Uyuni which is the gateway to the salt flats excursions.

Day 7-8: Salar de Uyuni

Head to Salar de Uyuni on day 7 and enjoy a 3 day 4x4 driving excursion to the amazing Uyuni Salt Flats and see the stunning surrounding desert scenery.

Day 9: Salar de Uyuni/Uyuni

Enjoy a final day exploring the salt flats and then board an overnight bus back to La Paz.

Day 10: La Paz

Have a free day to explore the winding streets and markets of La Paz or for the more adventurous you can opt to bike on the famous “death road”.

Day 11: La Paz

Your incredible Bolivian tour ends today in La Paz and you are free to depart at any time.

Arrival information

You will need to arrange your flights into Alto International Airport in La Paz, Bolivia on day 1, in time for a 6p.m. welcome meeting.

Please note, we can also arrange an airport transfer for you when you arrive. Please contact a Travel Advisor for more information.

Airport transfers are not included, but you can get a taxi to your hotel in the centre of La Paz for a set rate of around 8USD. Please only use taxis driven by official uniformed taxi drivers. The scenic drive into the soaring city takes around half an hour.

Accommodation & meals

10 nights of accommodation are included on this tour. There are 7 nights in hotels, majority twin-share rooms, 2 nights in a multi-share community lodge and 1 night spent on overnight transportation. 

There are 10 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 2 dinners also included. 

Minimum age & eligibility

The minimum age to join this trip is 18. This fantastic trip is an open-aged experience that caters for a mix of younger and older travellers. This means that you may travel with people who are outside your own age group. Such a mix of ages creates a great group dynamic and enhances the travel experience, as you get to know a range of people with different stories to tell!

All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum 6 months validity). British nationals don’t need a visa to visit Bolivia for stays of up to 30 days. Visa rules and regulations are subject to change. Please check the relevant embassy websites for the most up to date visa information.

Due to recent changes, the Bolivian authorities now require all travellers to Bolivia to provide a Yellow Fever 'Certificate of Vaccination' on arrival. You should keep your Yellow Fever Certificate with your travel documents when entering Bolivia. As we are not medically trained we are not able to advise you about vaccinations - you should make an appointment with your GP before travelling to get up to date information and advice about receiving the vaccination and other health considerations.
