Option 1: Paid work package only

Spend a week in a vibrant hostel meeting fellow travellers and getting to know the incredible city of Darwin. Get job hunting with the support of the fantastic local jobs team and bag yourself a great job with unbelievably high wages! Get a bank account, a tax number and a SIM card and enjoy job support for up to 12 months. You will also be part of a jobs network that spans the entire country so once you’ve worked in Darwin, you can work elsewhere in Australia!

Option 2: Paid work package + Adventure activities

Enjoy all the benefits of the job package, but add a dash of adventure! Visit a crocodile park and get up close to mighty crocs, and explore the gorgeous landscapes of Litchfield National Park. This is the perfect introduction to sunny Australia!

Week One: Darwin

Your first week will be spent in the buzz of Darwin, the capital city of the Northern Territory. Enjoy 7 nights in a lively hostel, meeting fellow travellers and getting to know this fantastic city. Then get job hunting!

You’ll be given help to set up your Australian bank account before you go, and then the jobs team in Darwin will help you get your tax file number set up, give you a free SIM card, help you with CV advice and get you kick-started on your job search, all during week one.

Add in some exciting adventures with Option 2! Face the crocs at Crocosaurus Cove and spend a day touring the gorgeous countryside at Litchfield National Park

Finding Paid Work

You can start to look for jobs as soon as you meet with the jobs team, and it couldn’t be easier to apply. The length of time it takes to find a job varies, although many applicants find paid work within the first few days! Jobs are available all across the Northern Territory, and the jobs team have excellent local knowledge and contacts across the region.

Once you have found a job the jobs team can help you to find suitable accommodation and then it’s time for you to get out there and start earning!

The length of time you stay out in Australia is up to you, but remember that your Working Holiday Visa is only valid for 1 year.

Under the terms of the working holiday visa, you can work for the same employer for a maximum of six months. You can continue to work for the same employer for a further six months if you switch to another branch of the company.

The jobs team will be on hand for you to call on at any time during the 12 months, so you’ll have plenty of ongoing job and visa support.

Please note: The jobs team are there to help and advise you, but a job placement cannot be guaranteed, as the decision is ultimately in the hands of each individual employer. 

Dates & booking
Please note: Many flights into Darwin arrive in the early hours of the morning, and if you wish to be able to check straight in to your accommodation, we recommend you book your start date to be the day before your flight arrival so your accommodation is ready for you. If you don't book your start date until the day of your flight arrival, please bear in mind that you will not be able to check into your room until around 12 noon.
