Explore three amazing Asian countries in one combo trip. Begin by discovering vibrant Vietnam, hop across to Thailand for a whole month of fun and adventure and end your epic trip in China - awesome!

Vietnam

Day 1: Welcome to Vietnam. Arrive into Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, where you’ll be met and transferred to your accommodation. Enjoy your first night in Vietnam!

Day 2: Hanoi Rickshaw Tour. Tour around the city on a rickshaw and keep your eyes peeled for key sites such as the Presidential Palace, the beautiful West Lake, the Ho Chi Minh complex and the One Pillar Pagoda. Breakfast included.

Day 3: Ha Long Bay cruise. Wake up early and make your way to the traditional Vietnamese junk boat that’ll be your home for the night! As you cruise you’ll have the chance to go caving, sea kayaking and even try your hand at a spot of late-night squid fishing! Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 4: Wake up in Ha Long. A real treat in store tonight – a stay on your very own private island! Chill out on this gorgeous island, get competitive with some beach volleyball and soak up the glorious sun! Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 5: Ninh Binh Homestay. Return to Ha Long Bay before plunging south to the stunning landscapes of Ninh Binh. Check in to a fantastic riverside homestay, and watch the sky turn orange and pink as the sun sets in this magnificent location. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 6: Beautiful Ninh Binh. Join a bicycle tour through the countryside. Then hop on a boat and glide along gentle rivers and delve into atmospheric caves. After lunch, ascend the legendary 450 steps of Dragon Mountain Viewpoint and prepare for a magical sunset. Overnight train down to Hoi An. Breakfast included.

Day 7: Hoi An. Wake up this morning in Danang and hop on a bus to Hoi An. Explore the lantern lit streets, wander around the shops and market stalls or simply gaze out over the wonderful waterways.

Day 8: Cycling and Crab Fishing. Today, jump aboard a fisherman’s boat and learn to catch crab as you float through tranquil Vietnamese waters! Then, learn how to whip up some tasty Vietnamese delicacies at a cooking class. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City. Jump on a short flight to southern Vietnam and visit famous Ho Chi Minh City. Soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant place.

Day 10: Mekong Delta. Back on the water today as you explore the beautiful Mekong Delta on board a traditional canoe. Glide through natural tree arches and try your hand at catfish fishing!

Day 11: Cu Chi Tunnels. Head underground and explore the incredible Cu Chi Tunnels, a sprawling network of underground passages that were used during the war for supplies and communication. Then enjoy a farewell night out in Ho Chi Minh City. Breakfast and dinner included.

Day 12: Vietnam tour ends. Your amazing adventure in Vietnam has come to an end! Exchange contact details with your group, say ‘Tam Biet’ to your guide, and fly across to Thailand for the next leg of your trip!

Thailand

Day 1: Bangkok. Get your bearings today as you find your feet in Thailand’s capital. Your tour leader will introduce you to your new group and point you in the right direction to head out into the neighbouring Khao San Road area to discover the coolest bars and clubs for yourself.

Day 2: Bangkok Guided Tour. We’ll get to know Bangkok properly today with a tour of the city’s top tourist attractions. We’ll go on a long-tail boat tour along the city’s canals, take a look around Wat Pho, discover the temple of the dawn, Wat Arun, and have the option of visiting the Grand Palace. Tonight, we’ll go to some of the best bars in the city.

Day 3: Explore Bangkok’s culture & attractions. Today we’ll be heading out into the busy streets of Bangkok on a brilliant bicycle tour. You’ll get to weave through the city’s streets and, on your way, stop to take a better look at some of Bangkok’s most impressive sights. Later we’ll freshen up before catching the overnight bus or train to our next destination – Chiang Mai.

Day 4: Chiang Mai. You’ll wake up this morning in beautiful Chiang Mai, where you’ll start your day chilling out by your accommodation’s pool. After that you might fancy taking a look around Thailand’s cultural capital and exploring Chiang Mai for yourself. In the evening the group will head to a local cookery class, where we’ll learn to cook between three and five delicious Thai dishes.

Day 5: Elephant Experience. We’ll head out of Chiang Mai early today to make our way to an exceptional elephant home. On arrival, you’ll get to learn how the team here are working to improve conditions for elephants in Thailand before spending some time with the elephants, feeding and bathing them.

Days 6 & 7: Hill Trekking. Over the next couple of days, we’ll trek through the hills, fields, and jungle for a truly immersive experience. You’ll get to see waterfalls, rice paddies, and rivers en route and then spend the night in traditional forest huts. The next day we’ll make our way back, go bamboo rafting, and spend the afternoon back at the elephant home.

Days 8 & 9: Chiang Mai. We’ll make the journey back to Chiang Mai, and enjoy a free afternoon in the city. The next day, we’ll visit Doi Suthep, home to the most iconic temple in Chiang Mai, Wat Phra That. In the evening, we’ll be treated to a night tour of Chiang Mai’s night bazaar, one of the city’s highlights.

Day 10: Free time in Chiang Mai. Enjoy another day in this stunning destination. Relax by the pool or head out for more exploration and adventure.

Day 11: Fly to Krabi, Transfer to Railay. We’ll leave Chiang Mai this morning to catch a flight down to Krabi, where we’ll hop in a boat and jet through the sea to Railay Beach. Enjoy sunset viewing and drinks on the beach tonight.

Day 12: Caves, Islands and Snorkelling. Today’s all about having a bit of fun in the sun as you get to explore beautiful Railay and its surroundings by boat, where you’ll get to view the coast from the water, exploring nearby caves and islands, stopping off to snorkel with the colourful marine life on the way.

Day 13: Transfer to Koh Phi Phi. Now that we’ve had a taste of paradise, it’s time to get some serious beach time in… we’ll board another boat to Koh Phi Phi. Enjoy a few drinks with the rest of your group tonight – head over to the famous Reggae Bar, watch some fire dancing on the beach, then cut some shapes of your own on one of the local dancefloors.

Day 14: Island Boat Trip. Jump aboard another boat today for an island-hopping tour of your gorgeous neighbouring islands, stopping for plenty of snorkelling sessions as we go.

Day 15: Viewpoint Visit. You’ll get a chance to chill out a little today, so slow the pace right down and get some sunbathing in. Later on, we’ll take a gentle walk up to the island’s most beautiful viewpoint to enjoy the sights and get some great photos.

Day 16-20: Koh Phangan. Today we’ll make our way to Thailand’s true party isle, Koh Phangan. We’ll travel by boat, coach, and boat again to get to our destination, but once we’re there, get yourself settled in as we’ll have four whole days to enjoy the idyllic mix of party and laidback lifestyle.

Depending on the dates your trip falls on, you might find yourself at a full moon party – held at Haad Rin beach with between 10,000 and 30,000 party-goers attending each month (£203), a half moon party – where top DJs play fantastic sets in a forest setting (£20-25), or a black moon party – where you’ll dance to the latest trance music from Thai and International resident and guest DJs (£2-3). 

Please note: We try our best to plan our start dates to coincide with a moon party, but this is not always possible due to circumstances beyond our control.

Day 21: Transfer to Koh Samui. We’ll head over to the gorgeous paradisiacal island of Koh Samui today. Relax in the afternoon with a few drinks on the beach.

Day 22: Project Work in Samui. Today we’ll make our way into the forest to help out at a dam building project. You’ll get to lay pipes and build dams using rocks, sand, and cement in the forest. It’s a really integral part of the work the people on Koh Samui are trying to carry out and you’ll leave the site knowing that you’ve done your bit to help out.

Day 23: Koh Samui Beach Time. You might want to keep today as a recovery day to catch up on some sleep or to chill out on the beach, but if you’re feeling energetic, why don’t you fit in a bit of island sightseeing or visit the local water park?

Day 24: Angthong National Marine Park. Head out on an incredible tour of the Angthong National Marine Park – a stunning archipelago made up of 42 beautiful islets where we’ll get to glide through turquoise waters weaving our way around this tropical hive on kayaks.

Days 25-28: Koh Tao. On day 25 we’ll make our way across to yet another idyllic tropical island. You’ll have five whole days to relax and unwind on this little slice of heaven, so indulge yourself and make the most of your surroundings.  

Day 29: Tour Ends. It’s been an incredible month of travel adventures, but it’s time to say goodbye. You’ll need to make your way home or on to other travels from Koh Tao as a return transfer isn’t included, but it’s simple to arrange and your tour guide will help you make arrangements.

Thai Adventure 2019 - If you are travelling in 2019 you will follow a slightly different Thai Adventure itinerary. Your tour will last 25 days ending on Koh Tao. Contact a travel advisor for more information.

China

Day 1: Arrive in Hong Kong. Optional welcome meeting in the evening; meet your group and guide and enjoy a walk along the amazing Avenue of Stars and watch the electrifying light show. It’s an unforgettable start to your epic China Adventure!

Day 2: Hong Kong to Yangshuo. 8am start for an optional guided hike up Victoria Peak, followed by free time in the city. At 4pm you'll depart Hong Kong and cross the border into mainland China, where you’ll hop on a night bus to Yangshuo.

Day 3-6: Yangshuo. Arrive in Yangshuo 5am on day 3. Inclusive bamboo rafting experience down the Li River. Optional activities include a cooking class, a bike tour, visit to mud baths, deep water soloing, watching traditional fishing using birds, cupping treatment, or a local village visit. On day 6, you can opt to walk up a karst peak to a pagoda to watch the sunrise before boarding a bus to Guilin and a night train to Chengdu.

Day 7-9: Chengdu. Optional activities include a massage, sampling a traditional Sichuan Hotpot and a free Mandarin lesson. Day 8: Optional trip to see the impressive Leshan Buddha (extra cost). On day 9 you’ll make a morning visit to meet some of China’s most wonderful wildlife, the Giant Panda, at the world-renowned Panda Breeding Research Centre. Visit Wenshu Temple before making tracks for Xi’an.

Day 10: Xi’an. Guided tour of Muslim Quarter (25RMB) or join an optional bike tour around the city (extra cost of 100RMB, approx £10). In the evening you can help out at a soup kitchen providing food and support to Xi’an’s homeless people.

Day 11: Xi’an. The Terracotta Warriors. Marvel at one of the wonders of the ancient world today as you take a tour of the awe-inspiring site of the Terracotta Warriors, one of China’s must-see attractions. Hit the town for a night out and a spot of Karaoke!

Day 12: Xi’an to Dengfeng. Bus to Dengfeng. Orphanage visit with Kung Fu show and option to join in a Kung Fu lesson (extra cost of 150RMB).

Day 13: Dengfeng. Free time. Optional visit to a Shaolin Temple (extra cost of 100RMB). Night train to Beijing.

Day 14-16: Beijing and the Great Wall. Hike along the Great Wall as the sun goes down, then set up camp for a night under canvas. Wake to a memorable sunrise and then head to Beijing for two days of free time and fun in this buzzing capital city. Optional attractions include a visit to The Forbidden City, the Olympic Village & Bird’s Nest Stadium or a Beijing Acrobatics Show (all at extra cost).

Day 17-19: Beijing – Hangzhou - Shanghai. Today we will board a night train to the beautiful lake city of Hangzhou and a stay in the countryside around the Moganshan bamboo nature reserve, with a lagoon visit. On day 19 you'll experience a morning hike up to the peak of magical Moganshan Mountain. After another inclusive Mandarin lesson you'll travel onwards by minibus and bullet train to Shanghai.

Day 20-22: Shanghai. Optional activities include a French Concession Walking Tour, bar crawl or a visit to a roof bar to sip champagne in a hot tub (all at extra cost). On day 22 you will hop on another night train towards Nanjing in Fujian Province (not to be confused with the more famous Nanjing City North of Shanghai).

Day 23: Nanjing, Fujian Province. has been described as one of Asia’s most picturesque areas. Spend the night in a traditional roundhouse known as a ‘Tulou’, part of the culture of the local Hakka people.

Day 24: Fujian Province. Visit roundhouses, temples and stunning countryside in this area. Sip Chinese tea in a traditional tea ceremony, take a dip in the local river and then head into the hills, where you’ll camp out on a tea plantation (if you prefer, you can return for a second night at the roundhouse).

Day 25: Fujian Province to Guangzhou. Start your day on the tea plantation by picking and drinking the local tea as you enjoy the spectacular views. Cycle to a local village before having a last dinner with the locals. Travel by night train and bus towards Guangzhou.

Day 26: Macau - Hong Kong. Arrive early in Shenzhen and start the day in style with a soak in the natural hot springs. Travel on to Macau, famous for its casinos and lively nightlife. Travel back to Hong Kong in the evening and spend one final night at your city hostel.

Day 27: Hong Kong. The 27-day China Adventure ends today in Hong Kong.
