Best of the US Express: 14 days
Day 1: New York City. Arrive at any time and meet your tour guide and the rest of your group.
Day 2: New York City/Washington DC. Brief orientation walk around NYC. Begin your road trip adventure by driving to the capital of the USA, Washington DC. Take a tour of the city’s monuments by moonlight.
Day 3: Washington DC. Free time to explore this richly cultural and historic city.
Day 4: Washington DC/Appalachia. Visit the Arlington National Cemetery. Drive through Shenandoah National Park. Camp in Appalachia.
Day 5: Appalachia/Nashville. Continue towards Nashville, the country music capital of the world.
Day 6: Nashville/Memphis. Visit the home of Rock ‘n’ Roll: Memphis.
Day 7: Memphis/New Orleans. Drive down to colourful New Orleans and enjoy free time exploring the city.
Day 8: New Orleans/Los Angeles. Hop on a plane and traverse the US from east to west. Land in L.A. in the evening.
Day 9: Los Angeles/Lake Havasu. Cruise around the celebrity hot-spots of L.A. and then head into Joshua Tree National Park. Camp at Lake Havasu.
Day 10: Lake Havasu/Grand Canyon. Visit the Grand Canyon, and hike around its southern rim, or descend into the depths of the gorge. Watch the sun set while enjoying pizza with your group and your guide.
Day 11: Grand Canyon/Las Vegas. Join the iconic Route 66 and head to Las Vegas.
Day 12: Las Vegas/Bishop. Make your way through the sand dunes and badlands of Death Valley. Arrive at camp in Bishop and stargaze or relax in the natural hot springs.
Day 13: Bishop/Yosemite National Park. Travel to the lush forests of Yosemite National Park.
Day 14: Yosemite National Park/San Francisco. Glimpse the fantastic Golden Gate Bridge as you roll into San Francisco. Tour ends on arrival.
Kiwi Discovery Pass: Minimum 28 days, valid for 12 months
Valid for 12 months, your bus pass allows you to spend up to a year exploring New Zealand, or if you prefer you can complete the entire tour route in a minimum of 28 days (although we recommend you allow around 38 days to make the most of your travel pass experience).
Please note: Following the earthquake on New Zealand’s South Island on the 14th November 2016, there have been a few minor changes to the Kiwi Discovery Pass route until further notice. Days 25-27 will now run as follows:
Day 25: Mt Cook – Christchurch. Discover tranquil Hagley Park and the spectacular Botanic Gardens in the vibrant city of Christchurch.
Day 26: Christchurch – Picton. Head across the Southern Alps and drive past Nelson Lakes National Park on the way to Picton. Unwind here this evening
Day 27: Picton to Wellington. Leave Picton behind and head across the water to the North Island. Here the original itinerary resumes. These changes have been made with the safety of our customers in mind, and to support the recovery of those areas affected by the earthquake. Please contact us for more information.
You don't have to start in Auckland! You can start and end at any stop along the route!
You should arrange your arrival into Auckland the day before the tour begins, as there is an early start in the morning!
Day 1: Auckland to Paihia, Bay of Islands. Your flexible, hop-on-hop-off tour begins today at 7am in the lively city of Auckland. Your destination is the relaxing seaside town of Paihia, known as the ‘gateway to the Bay of Islands’. Visit Parry Kauri Forest Park.
Day 2: Paihia to Cape Reinga and Back. Stop off at Te Paki Stream to try some inclusive dune surfing and sandboarding, before arriving at Cape Reinga. Please note: Today is a round day trip from Paihia and you cannot hop off the bus today.
Day 3: Paihia to Auckland. Today is a free day to relax and enjoy Paihia at your leisure. Join a boat cruise, sign up to swim with dolphins, laze on the beach or hike to the famous Harura Falls. In the afternoon, the bus will take you back to the bright lights of Auckland.
Day 4: Auckland to Hahei. Travel south to the stunning Coromandel Peninsula and settle into your beachfront accommodation. Head over to Hot Water Beach to dig and relax in your own personal hot water pool! (weather & tide dependent)
Day 5: Hahei. Free day to relax and soak up the beautiful surroundings and awesome optional activities of Hahei.
Day 6: Hahei to Raglan. Visit the amazing Bridal Veil Falls en route to Raglan. Chill out in this cool surfer town.
Day 7: Raglan (via Waitomo) to Rotorua. Visit Waitomo Caves, famous for their glow-worms. Optional activities include visiting The Lord of the Rings Hobbiton set.
Day 8: Rotorua to Lake Aniwhenua. Maori guided tour, activities, meals and stay at Lake Aniwhenua (optional: extra cost of NZD89). Optional activities include: traditional fishing, eeling, weaving lessons, cooking classes and kayaking (cost NZD10-20).
Day 9: Lake Aniwhenua (via Taupo) to Whakahoro. See the stunning Huka Falls then visit Lake Taupo. Optional skydiving (approx NZD250). Rural country farm visit and overnight stay.
Day 10: Whakahoro. Explore the countryside around the rural country farm. Optional activities include a 4x4 tour, a horse trek or kayaking.
Day 11: Whakahoro to Raetihi. Explore the Tongariro National Park. Option to do legendary 1-day Tongariro Crossing Alpine Walk (extra cost). Stay overnight at a historic Nurses’ Home in Raetihi.
Day 12: Raetihi to Wellington. Travel to Wellington. Free time to explore New Zealand’s capital city.
Day 13: Wellington to Marahau (Abel Tasman National Park). 8am ferry to South Island (extra cost of approx. NZD55). Visit to Marlborough wine-making region (optional wine tasting). Final destination of the day is Marahau, on the edge of Abel Tasman National Park.
Day 14: Marahau (Abel Tasman National Park). Explore Abel Tasman National Park. Optional activities on offer include sailing, kayaking, skydiving, stand up paddleboarding or hang gliding. All optional activities are at an extra cost.
Day 15: Marahau to Westport. Leave a legacy behind you as you plant your very own tree! Stop at Cape Foulwind to see the amazing fur seal colony. Your final destination of the day is the historic coal mining town of Westport.
Day 16: Westport to Franz Josef. See the unusual Punakaiki Pancake Rocks with their impressive blowholes. Stop off at the mining town of Greymouth and Hokitika en route to Franz Josef.
Day 17: Franz Josef. Free day to explore the area around the fantastic Franz Josef Glacier. Join a guided bush hike, or enjoy a heli-hop and tour of the unique icy area, including entry to hot pools (extra cost of NZD250).
Day 18: Franz Josef to Wanaka. See Lake Matheson, travel through Haast Pass and Makarora, see Lake Hawea then end up in Wanaka in the late afternoon.
Day 19-20: Wanaka to Queenstown. Early walk up Mount Iron or skydive (skydive extra cost). On to Queenstown, the adventure capital of the world! Spend 2 unforgettable nights here.
Day 21: Queenstown to Gunn’s Camp. Start early for a scenic drive past Lake Wakatipu, before arriving in magical Milford Sound. Opt to do a Milford Sound boat cruise (extra cost) before travelling on to Gunn’s Camp.
Day 22: Gunn’s Camp to Invercargill/Stewart Island. Take a leisurely stroll through beautiful beech forests on a Viewing Gantry walk. Travel South to Invercargill. Hop across to Stewart Island (ferry at own cost) or stay in Invercargill overnight instead.
Day 23: Invercargill/Stewart Island to Queenstown. If you stayed on Stewart Island, enjoy a free morning before travelling back to the mainland (ferry at own cost). If you chose to stay in Invercargill overnight, you’ll head out on a tour sea-lion, penguin and dolphin spotting. Travel back to Queenstown.
Day 24: Queenstown to Aoraki/Mt Cook. Arrive at the base of New Zealand’s highest mountain Aoraki/ Mt Cook in the early afternoon. Take a short walk, join a 4WD tour or visit the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre.
Day 25: Mount Cook to Rangitata. Visit Lake Tekapo, where you can try optional activities such as ice-skating, snow tubing or swimming at hot springs (winter months only). In Geraldine you can try white water rafting! Spend the night on an original sheep station in Rangitata.
Day 26: Rangitata (via Christchurch) to Kaikoura. Set off early across the Canterbury Plains to the city of Christchurch and then on to Kaikoura. Spot seals, soak up the spectacular views, swim with dolphins or go whale-spotting (seasonal).
Day 27: Kaikoura (via Picton) to Wellington. Travel along the wild coast, stopping at a seal colony en route to Picton. You can choose to stop off here, or catch a ferry (extra cost of NZD51-75) across the Cook Strait to Wellington.
Day 28: Wellington to Auckland. Leaving at 6.40am, you’ll zip back to your starting point in Auckland today, arriving in the late afternoon. Here your epic hop-on-hop-off adventures come to an end!

Fiji Island Hopping: 8 days
Day 1: Welcome to Fiji! Touch down in Fiji and meet your guide who will transfer you to your accommodation in Nadi. Meet the rest of your group at a welcome dinner and drinks. Your Fiji Island Hopping trip has begun!
Day 2: The Central Coast. Head south to the Central Coast. Enjoy a boat trip around the Vatulele and Yanuca Islands, and try snorkelling, kayaking (extra cost) and a tasty beach BBQ. Back at the resort, chill out with sunset yoga and kava around the bonfire.
Day 3: Learn to Surf. Time to get out on those waves with an included surf lesson! This afternoon, delve into the forest and discover the Novala Falls. Head back to the resort for drinks by the beach.
Day 4: Yasawa Islands. Cruise across to the Yasawa Islands. Check in to the gorgeous Blue Lagoon resort and tuck into a delicious meal at a local restaurant. Spend the rest of the day as you wish.
Day 5: Local Village Experience. Visit some stunning limestone caves and meet local people at a nearby village. Immerse yourself in Fijian culture, play some games with the village children and learn a thing or two from the village elders.
Day 6: Mantaray Island. Hop across to Mantaray Island, home to over 1,000 species of marine creatures. Get competitive with a few rounds of beach volleyball and then order cocktails and chill out by the sea. Tonight, you’ll gather around the campfire, swapping stories and making memories.
Day 7: Farewell Dinner. It’s your final full day in Fiji! Spend the morning exploring Mantaray Island and then enjoy a farewell dinner with your group! Grab a drink and watch beautiful Fiji turn orange and pink as the sun goes down. Enjoy an exciting cultural dancing show and then party the night away!
Day 8: Tour ends. Your incredible Fiji trip has come to an end! Your guide will help you organise your return transfer to Nadi. We recommend you book an extra night of accommodation in Nadi tonight (extra cost) and fly out tomorrow.

Kicking off in the buzzing city of Bangkok you'll explore bustling streets in this lively Thai capital city, before enjoying a VIP bus journey to Chiang Mai. Enjoy a Thai cookery class and a full day at an amazing Elephant Park. Next, head off into the Thai hills for an incredible two-day trek!
Week 2: Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Krabi and Koh Phi Phi
Spend some time enjoying all the wonderful sights and sounds of charming Chiang Mai, where you can climb the DoiSuthep Mountain and see its majestic temples, and shop for bargains at the famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. Travel back to Bangkok for more fun and nightlife in the city. Then it's time to for some beach paradise on Railay Beach and on the dreamy island of Koh Phi Phi!
Week 3: Party on Koh Phangan
This fabulous week is a chance to laze your days away on stunning beaches or hang out at the local bars. You’ll also enjoy a traditional Thai massage, a visit to a secret beach and an island tour. This laid-back paradise island is famous for hosting the world famous Full Moon and Black Moon parties. We try our best to plan most of our start dates to coincide with a legendary Full Moon or Black Moon Party.
Week 4: Koh Samui and Koh Tao
Make a difference at a dam building project on KohSamui and discover the beauty of Angthong National Marine Park. Round off the adventure with some serious relaxation on the tropical island of Koh Tao.
