Further trip information

Orientation

You will be met at Yangon airport and taken to your accommodation. Your orientation will begin on the Monday after your arrival. You will spend 5 days enjoying a cultural Introduction to Burma, including language lessons and cultural excursions.

TEFL Training

The 120 hour TEFL training part of the programme lasts for four weeks.

Week 1– Lesson planning and basic grammar introduction.

Week 2 – Honing your skills and detailed lesson planning.

Week 3 – Completion of TEFL course and final exam.

Paid Teaching Placements

Once you have completed the TEFL part of the programme and got your qualification, you begin your paid teaching placement in Burma, which will have been secured for you before you go to Burma.  You will work at your allocated school for the duration of your stay.  Your itinerary will vary depending on the school you work in, but teaching days are typically Monday – Friday and you can expect to work 20-25 hours per week in the classroom.
