Day 1: New York City! Welcome to the Big Apple! Our first activity is as iconic as it gets with a high-octane speedboat ride to Lady Liberty! Then take a walking tour of some of the city’s highlights before a trip up One World Trade Center Observatory, a pizza party in Brooklyn Bridge Park, drinks in hip DUMBO, and dessert on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade!
Day 2: New York City. Start your day with a stroll through the Highline Garden, before savouring the flavours of Chelsea Market. Then head to Central Park before a street art tour of buzzing Bushwick.
Day 3: NYC to Washington DC. Arrive mid-afternoon and refuel with a Chilli bowl at Obama’s favourite eatery! The afternoon’s yours to explore. Head to historic Georgetown or visit Arlington National Cemetery before an evening in the city’s awesome bars.
Day 4: Washington DC. We’ve got a whole day tour lined up including the U.S. Capitol, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, The Whitehouse, the Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and more!
Day 5: Washington to Philadelphia. Arrive mid-afternoon ready for a tasty Philly cheese steak at a legendary diner. Then take a city tour before hitting the famous “Rocky” steps for some epic selfies. Tonight, enjoy a sports bar dinner before exploring the hip Fishtown area.
Day 6: Philadelphia to Boston. Arrive in Boston in the afternoon and walk across the Common to Little Italy for dinner. After some delicious pizza and pasta, round off with a world-famous cannoli from Mike’s Pastry – deliziosa!
Day 7: Boston. Start your day with an unforgettable whale-watching tour. Then head to one of Boston’s favourites, Quincy Market, for lunch, before spending the afternoon walking the Freedom Trail and visiting Harvard University.
Day 8: Boston to Las Vegas. Pack your bags – we’re flying to Vegas baby! Check into your luxe casino hotel in the heart of the entertainment district and enjoy a drink in the bar with the group before strolling down to the neon-lit Strip.
Day 9: Las Vegas. Spend the morning by the pool, before a tour of Vegas’ most iconic sights, including a stop at the famous Vegas sign, Area 51, and the legendary Fremont Street. After dinner at Nacho Daddy get ready to go large. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
Day 10: Las Vegas to Williams. So long Vegas! Visit the Hoover Dam, take a hike up the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, and roll down Route 66 to kitsch Seligman. Spend the evening at Frontier BBQ and Beer Garden before a night in our Arizona camp.
Day 11: The Grand Canyon. Tick off a bucket-list biggie today with a visit to one of the most spectacular places on Earth. Hike through the jaw-dropping scenery and gaze in awe. This evening, catch the shuttle back to camp in time for s’mores under the stars.
Day 12: The Grand Canyon to Vegas. Start the day with some coffee and American pie before trying axe-throwing! Then get the chance to fire some guns on an optional shooting range visit, before travelling back to Vegas for another night on the Strip.
Day 13: Las Vegas to LA. Take the bus to the sun-soaked city of LA today where we’ll be staying in beautiful Santa Monica. Head to the 3rd Street Promenade for stellar shopping and dining, then enjoy a sunset stroll before joining the arcade challenge on Santa Monica Pier!
Day 14: Los Angeles. Take a volleyball class on Santa Monica Beach this morning, before a classic California burger lunch on Sunset Boulevard, and a visit to the Walk of Fame. This evening hike up to Griffiths Observatory for incredible views and a jaw-dropping show at the Planetarium.
Day 15: LA day or theme parks. We’ve got some amazing optional activities on offer today with trips to Universal Studios or Disneyland! If you’re not planning to live the theme park life, you might like to give something back to the local community and volunteer at one of the city’s soup kitchens
Day 16: LA to Yosemite. Head to Union Station and start our journey across California by bus and train. Our destination - a mountain resort near Yosemite National Park!
Day 17: Yosemite. It's an early start today as we head into the national park for a guided tour with a local specialist. This afternoon you have free time in the park to check out some of the highlights. Tonight we head to June Bug cafe to toast our amazing adventure.
Day 18: Yosemite to San Francisco. Arrive in San Fran in time for a guided tour of the downtown area. Dinner tonight is in Chinatown. Then head out to sample the historic saloons, atmospheric speakeasies, and host of local distilleries and winemakers. San Fran parties like no other.
Day 19: San Francisco. Take the bus to Ocean Beach for some sea air and then head to Golden Gate Park for the greenery. Pick up a picnic lunch to enjoy in Alamo Square before heading to the world's most crooked street - Lombard. We then head to Fishermans Wharf.
Day 20: San Francisco. Take an iconic San Francisco cable car this morning before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge is a highlight of any visit to San Fran and we’ll do that today on bikes! This afternoon, hit Pier 39, explore Haight-Ashbury, or wander through the Botanical Garden
Day 21: Trip end. Spend your last morning on an optional visit to Alcatraz or take your time getting to know the city better. Then it’s time to pack your bags, say goodbye to the group and either head home or continue your travels.

We would suggest that you arrive the day before in case of flight delays (we can advise you on booking pre-tour accommodation). New York has 3 main airports, and we recommend flying into JFK airport. Upon arrival make your way to our starting accommodation which will take around 60 minutes by public transport.
The trip ends on day 21 in San Francisco. We recommend flying out the day after the tour ends if you want to experience more of the Bay Area as there are optional activities available on day 21.
Accommodation
20 nights’ accommodation is included on this trip in a mixture of hotels and hostels, including 2 nights in a Vegas Casino hotel and 2 nights in cosy cabins at the Grand Canyon. Accommodation is on a multi-share basis. Rooms are a combination of single sex and mixed sex during the trip. If you are travelling as a pair and want to upgrade to a double room at an additional cost, contact us for details. If you’d like to book extra nights of accommodation before or after the trip, speak to your travel advisor for more information.
Meals
No meals are included in this trip so you will have a great opportunity to sample the varied local cuisine and to eat where and when you like. Your guide will be able to make great local recommendations for the group!
You’ll need to be a minimum of 18 years old to participate in this trip.
You will need to get a visa or an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) visa waiver to enter or transit the USA as a visitor. You should consult the US State Department website to determine which you will need.
If you’re under 21, you won’t be able to enter bars, clubs or other establishments where alcohol is served. It’s recommended that even if you are over 21, you always carry a valid form of ID.
