You can choose from a range of worthwhile volunteer projects in Nepal:

Teaching. The teaching projects encourage creative, inspiring and motivated volunteer teachers to make their mark in this Kathmandu community by teaching kids and ensuring they continue their education.  Helping to track local children’s school attendance is another way you can help improve kids’ prospects in Nepal.

Childcare. Looking after young children in and around Kathmandu, you’ll provide much needed love, care and attention, as well as basic education, to kids, many of whom have had a difficult start in life. Bringing enthusiasm and energy to your caring role, you’ll be rewarded daily on this worthwhile, wonderful volunteer project.

Women’s Empowerment. Aiming to improve the education and confidence of women in the local community, you can volunteer with local Nepalese women and adolescent girls to help empower them and expand their horizons. You will also help run empowering activities to build confidence and help the local women become more self-reliant, such as creative workshops, vocational training, and learning activities.

Community Projects. At certain times of the year there are also opportunities to volunteer with building and maintenance projects in the community. This may include decorating classrooms, waterproofing buildings, working with sanitation or drainage, harvesting rain water, or installing solar lighting. This option will require you to pay a weekly local donation. Speak to a travel adviser for more information
