Mekong River Village Project, Laos

Location - Ban Pak Nguey, Laos

Ban Pak Nguey is a very remote village in northern Laos which is only accesible by private boat. With a population of 1200, travellers who visit are really getting off the beaten track. Over the last few years this community has opened up to a very limited amount of  tourism in order generate employment opportunities and income for the community.

We include an authentic overnight stay in the village on applicable trips and included in the stay is a monetary contribution to the local community fund. The fund has been used for some amazing projects. With 12 months worth of contribuations, It has paid for 1.2km of water pipe, so that a better water supply can be made for the village. It has also partially funded the building of a village community hall.
