This awesome tour includes safari game drives in legendary Kruger National Park and 2 days camping in an incredible wildlife sanctuary in stunning Swaziland. You’ll stay on South Africa’s beautiful coast and laze on beaches, go on game drives in Addo Elephant Park, explore idyllic Tsitsikamma National Park, travel along the famous Garden Route and end your adventures in the colourful city of Cape Town.

A 17-day overland & camping adventure tour in South Africa and Swaziland!
Day 1: Arrive in Johannesburg, South Africa. Say hello to South Africa as you arrive in Johannesburg in time for a welcome meeting in the late afternoon/early evening. Get set for African adventures!
Day 2: Johannesburg to Kruger Area. A day’s driving brings you to Hazyview where you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and dance performance with the local people.
Day 3: Kruger National Park. Go on an unforgettable game drive in legendary Kruger National Park and spot incredible wildlife!
Day 4 & 5: Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, Swaziland. Visit the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, set in Swaziland’s Ezulwini Valley. You’ll have 2 days to explore. Opt to hike, bike, go horse riding, join a game drive or visit a traditional Swazi village.
Day 6 & 7: Saint Lucia, South Africa. Travel back to South Africa, and head for the coastal area of St Lucia. Enjoy an optional boat cruise, horse ride, go on safari or relax on the beach.
Day 8: Saint Lucia to Durban. Travel on to the coastal city of Durban and relax by the Indian Ocean.
Day 9: Durban to Chintsa. Travel from Durban to the beach paradise of Chintsa, homeland of the Xhosa people.
Day 10: Chintsa. Enjoy a free day in and around the stunning beach location of Chintsa today. Optional activities include game drives, a brewery visit, horse riding, quad biking, an elephant experience or a visit to a Xhosa village.
Day 11: Addo Elephant National Park. Visit one of South Africa’s most famous wildlife havens, Addo Elephant Park. Go on a game drive to spot lions, rhinos, buffalo, leopards and of course, elephants!
Day 12 & 13: Tsitsikamma National Park. You’re now officially following South Africa’s gorgeous ‘Garden Route’ along the coast! Spend 2 days in this idyllic park. Hike, snorkel, canoe, go whale watching, try ziplining or bungee jumping!
Day 14: Tsitsikamma National Park to Knysna. Carry on along the stunning Garden Route to the charming coastal town of Knysna. En route, you’ll be given the option to visit either a cheetah sanctuary or a monkey park.
Day 15: Knysna to Oudtshoorn. See the awe-inspiring sea cliffs at Knysna Heads and travel on to Oudtshoorn. Option to visit the famous Cango Caves or take a trip to an ostrich farm.
Day 16: Oudtshoorn to Cape Town. A final, full day of travel brings you into Cape Town. Be blown away by Table Mountain and make the most of your last night in Africa!.
Day 17: Tour ends in Cape Town. Your awesome African adventure ends today in Cape Town.

You should arrange your arrival into Johannesburg Airport on day 1. There are no activities scheduled for today, but please arrive in time for a welcome meeting in the late afternoon/early evening.
Your hotel offers a free airport pickup, which is a shared transfer. When you land you will need to call the hotel to notify them that you wish to be picked up. You may have to wait for 20 minutes to 1.5 hours. If you do not wish to wait for the shared transfer, your best option is to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel (at your own cost).

16 nights’ shared accommodation are included on this tour. This will mainly be camping with the occasional night during the trip in shared-room hostels.
Most camping equipment is supplied, including camp mattresses, camp chairs, cooking equipment and 2-person dome tents (easily assembled in 5 minutes). You will be expected to put up and dismantle your own tent. Please note that you will need to bring your own sleeping bag, plus a small pillow and a sleeping bag sheet if you want one. Winters can be cold, so ensure that your sleeping bag is warm enough. You should also bring a torch.
16 breakfasts, 15 lunches and 14 dinners are included on this tour. You should bring USD60-80 to cover the cost of other meals. Breakfasts are usually bread or cereal, lunches are sandwiches or salads and evening meals are hot and freshly prepared. Dietary requirements can be catered for if you advise us at the time of booking. A cook will travel with you, but all travellers will be part of a rota system, mucking in to help out with meal preparation and washing up duties. It’s a team effort!
The minimum age to join this trip is 18. This trip is designed for travellers aged 18-39.
Nationals of the EU, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand do not require a visa to enter South Africa. South African Immigration asks that you have two completely blank consecutive pages in your passport. As long as you hold a valid passport (and a valid return ticket) you will be granted a temporary visitor’s permit on arrival, allowing you to stay for up to 3 months. You should also ensure that your passport will still be in date for 6 months after you return.
British travellers do not require a visa to enter Swaziland and you can stay for up to 30 days.
