Further trip information

Day 1: Welcome to Hawaii. Aloha! Welcome to Hawaii’s beautiful Big Island! Kick off your adventure with a tour of a coffee farm on the west coast of Hawaii. Then jump on board a motor-boat and zip out onto the blue waters for an island-hopping tour and snorkelling at Kealakekua Bay Park. Round off the day with a few drinks at Ho'okena Beach Park and reflect on your first day in paradise!

Days 2-3: Hawaii Volcanoes. Spend the morning wandering the black sands of Punalu'u and keep your eyes peeled for turtles! Then turn up the heat with a visit to one of the world’s most active volcanoes, Kilauea, in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Day 4: Hilo Wailuku River State Park. Spend your day exploring the gorgeous Rainbow Falls, an 80ft waterfall that creates rainbows in its mist, and the famous Boiling Pots, water pools that are so turbulent they appear to be boiling! End the day with a stroll down the Hilo Walk of Fame, a boulevard of Banyan trees planted by celebrities.

Day 5: Akaka Falls. Arrive at Akaka Falls State Park, home to the extraordinary Akaka Falls, a waterfall that plunges 442ft down a gorgeous green cliff. Stop off at the World Botanical Gardens before spending the night at Laupahoehoe Beach. Fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing against the coast!

Day 6: Waipio Valley. Journey on to the gloriously green Waipio Valley. This stunning area was once home to old Hawaiian kings, and you will enjoy an included tour of the area, where you’ll learn about the valley’s important position in Hawaiian history. Afterwards, you’ll have chance to explore the art galleries and craft shops of Hawi Town before settling into your campsite near the sands of Spencer Beach.

Day 7: Lapakahi State Park. Enjoy a free day along the rugged coast of Lapakahi State Park. This restored coastline offers a glimpse into the life of ancient Hawaiians. As the sun sets, head over to Mauna Kea Observatory and drink in the glittering night sky.

Day 8: Turtles in Kiholo Bay. Today is your final day in Hawaii! Make the most of it and spend the morning spotting Green Sea Turtles in the crystal clear waters of Kiholo Bay. Then return to Kona Town for a walking tour before your trip comes to an end at around 5pm.
