Follow the Mayan trade route, stopping off at spectacular ruins including Chichén Itza, Uxmal and Palenque. Then make the most of Mexico’s stunning beaches, with relaxation time in Mahuhual and Playa del Carmen. You’ll even enjoy a boat cruise across the magical Lagoon of Seven Colours, a shimmering, shifting body of water that changes colour as the sun sets. Travelling with a group and guide, you’ll also meet exciting like-minded adventurers and gain great insights into this spectacular country along the way.

Explore the history, culture and beaches of Mexico on this action packed 9-day group tour!
Day 1: Cancun – Chichén Itza – Merida. Meet your group at 7:30am in Cancun and head out of the city towards Chichén Itza. Dominated by the mighty El Castillo pyramid, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a snapshot of a long-forgotten past. After exploring Chichén Itza, continue on to Mérida, the beautiful capital city of the Yucatán state. Tonight, hit the town for a night out with your group!
Day 2: Uxmal – Campeche. Discover the magnificent Mayan city of Uxmal with its towering Pyramid of the Magician. Then drive to Campeche, a walled city on the coast of Mexico. Take a walk along the Malecón, an exquisite path that looks over the shimmering sea, or rent a bicycle and explore at speed!
Day 3-4: Palenque. Plunge south towards the ruins of Palenque. Discover the enormous Temple of Inscriptions, and enjoy a tour of the surrounding jungle. After a busy day of exploration, freshen up in the cooling spray of Misol Ha waterfall. Tonight, join an optional nocturnal tour of the jungle (extra cost USD65).
Day 5: Bacalar. Spend the night on the edge of the Lagoon of Seven Colours. Take a cruise on the water and then make a splash in the Cenote Azul, a secluded swimming spot.
Day 6-7: Mahahual. Some blissful beach living now, as you head across to Mahahual on the Caribbean Coast. Spend your days stretched out on the sugary beaches, sipping cocktails with your fellow travellers and cooling off in the sparkling turquoise sea. If you fancy an underwater experience, head over to nearby Banco Chinchorro with its beautiful coral reef and marine life.
Day 8: Tulum – Playa Del Carmen. En route to Playa Del Carmen,stop off at Tulum, the country’s only coastal Mayan ruins. Kick back and relax in the beachside bars and clubs of Playa Del Carmen. Celebrate this incredible Mexican adventure with your group. Your tour ends tomorrow!
Day 9: Playa Del Carmen – Cancun. Enjoy your final morning beneath the swaying palm trees of Playa Del Carmen. Then head back to Cancun where your tour will end at around 5pm. If you choose to fly out today, please do not book a flight that departs before 9pm to allow for transfers and check in.

Your tour begins at 7:30am on day 1 in Cancun. Due to this early start, we recommend you arrive the day before and book an extra night of accommodation (at your own cost).
The tour ends in Cancun at 5pm. If you wish to fly out on this day please do not book a flight that departs before 9pm.
8 nights of accommodation are included on this tour. 3 nights will be spent in budget accommodation (single sex dorms) and 5 nights will be spent in hotels (twin share).
You are required to purchase your own meals while in Mexico. This is a great opportunity to explore Mexican culture and sample delicious local delicacies for yourself. Your guide can recommend where to eat in each stunning location.
The minimum age to join this group tour is 18.
British nationals don’t need a visa to enter Mexico but you will need a tourist card, which you get on arrival. You will need to complete an immigration form on your flight or at a border crossing in order to get your tourist card. You will need to keep your tourist card safe as you need it to leave the country. The departure tax for Mexico is USD48 but this may sometimes be included in your flight (please check before you travel).
