Then jet across country and see what the west has to offer! Cash in your chips at a Las Vegas casino, peer over the edge of the majestic Grand Canyon, and take in the desolate beauty of Death Valley. This east to west adventure is the perfect way to meet new people and absorb the diverse landscapes and cultures of this incredible country!

Further trip information

Day 1: New York City. Arrive at any time and meet your tour guide and the rest of your group at your accommodation. If you arrive early, take in the sights and atmosphere of this iconic city.

Day 2: New York City/Washington DC. Brief orientation walk around NYC with your tour guide, and a chance to explore more of the vibrant city streets. Hop on a private bus and begin your road trip adventure by driving to the capital of the USA, Washington DC. Arrive in the evening and take a tour of the city’s monuments by moonlight.

Day 3: Washington DC. Free time to explore this richly cultural and historic city. Use this time to visit the White House, the Capitol building and the National Mall among other fantastic city locations.

Day 4: Washington DC/Appalachia. Visit the Arlington National Cemetery, the site of hundreds of soldiers’ graves and the final resting place of President John F. Kennedy. Drive through Shenandoah National Park, a gorgeous expanse of colourful woodland and rolling hills. Camp in Appalachia.

Day 5: Appalachia/Nashville. Continue through the breathtaking Appalachian Mountains towards Nashville, the country music capital of the world. Explore the streets and bars of this lively city and enjoy vintage American music.

Day 6: Nashville/Memphis. Visit the home of Rock ‘n’ Roll: Memphis. Free time to explore this captivating city and the chance for optional visits to the National Civil Rights Museum and the home of the king himself; Elvis Presley’s Graceland. Head out into the streets for a night of drinks and dance at the fantastic city bars and clubs.

Day 7: Memphis/New Orleans. Drive down to the colourful city of New Orleans and enjoy free time exploring this stylish city. Perhaps stroll through the elegant French quarter, taste Louisiana seafood, and make merry on Bourbon Street as the sun goes down.

Day 8: New Orleans/Los Angeles. Time to hop on a plane and traverse the US from east to west. Land in L.A. in the evening and rest in your accommodation.

Day 9: Los Angeles/Lake Havasu. Cruise around the celebrity hot-spots of L.A. in a private van before plunging into the spectacular wasteland of Joshua Tree National Park. Arrive at Lake Havasu and swim in the cool Colorado river as night falls.

Day 10: Lake Havasu/Grand Canyon. Visit the impressive Grand Canyon, and hike around its southern rim, or descend into the depths of the gorge. Watch the sun set over this geological wonder while enjoying pizza with your group and your guide.

Day 11: Grand Canyon/Las Vegas. Hop into the private van and join the iconic Route 66 as you make your way across the desert to Las Vegas. Arrive and explore this electric town of lights and entertainment.

Day 12: Las Vegas/Bishop. Leave the city behind and make your way through the sand dunes and badlands of Death Valley, one of America’s most extreme landscapes. Arrive at camp in Bishop and stargaze or relax in the natural hot springs.

Day 13: Bishop/Yosemite National Park. Travel from the arid desert of Death Valley to the lush forests and glittering waterfalls of Yosemite National Park. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views from the mountains of this incredible park.

Day 14: Yosemite National Park/San Francisco. Glimpse the fantastic Golden Gate Bridge as you roll into the final stop of your tour. Enjoy the beauty of San Francisco’s diverse neighbourhoods and perfect beaches. Enjoy your final day by exploring more of the city!

Please note: Due to the late arrival in San Francisco on the final day, we strongly recommend booking an extra night of accommodation and flying out the following day. If you must depart on day 14, you should not book a flight before 9pm. Please speak to a travel advisor for more details.
